Prototype Frankencar Heatshield is done, PICS!! LOOK

I know we are behind on the heatshield but i made one up and it looks good and fits every so nice after i tweaked around with it for a while. This one is made out of foam board just for my fabricator and i'm shippnig it out tomorrow and having 100 come back in 3-4 weeks, those one will be made of high quality plastic, so they wont' conduct heat and be durable, blend in more and be easy to work with. the expected price on these heatshield will be around 25 bucks tops and shipping shoudl only be like 4 bucks for priority. so under 30 bucks to you. we can however only guarantee fitment with a frankencar midpipe and fitler setup. it should work with most other ones but such as frankencar midpipe with berk cone or stillen or jwt BUT we will not GUARANTEE Fitment except with a frankencar intake, but again it should work with almost any setup.

i also have the apexi filter on my car and i love it so far. i'm gonna order like 15 or so tomorrow and then have them ready soon. pricing for the whole kit with an apexi fitler should be 169.99 due to the fact that we need to include an extra MAF adapter and hose piece and two hose clamps, the difference is less then cost for us, we just want all you to have them.

I think we're gonna have to fight steve....

You and your ghetto rigs are too much of my style that I have to buy it when you make them for the 4th gens.

Hmm, no offense, but it looks like that maybe took about 5 minutes.. Perhaps you should have called this the Frankencar Pre-production Foamboard Jig for Heatshield. And then when you get a plastic version it could be the prototype.

I've got a few concerns. Firstly, although you are shielding the intake from engine heat, you're also shielding it from fresh air flow into the engine bay. Maybe combine this with an extension coming from the stock ram air funnel. Either that or you could fabricate a custom larger and better flowing funnel. At least some source of outside air. Otherwise it will be stuck behind the battery with no airflow.

Secondly, I must have installed the bracket wrong or something, cause it snapped in two and broke the bolt while it was at it after just one day. Maybe you can get your fabricator to make a better fitting bracket?

Just some suggestions trying to be helpful.

i'm 99.9% sure it will fit with the berk, the one's i'm worried about are the stillen or the JWT but ewok is gonna try it with his stillen and i'm sure it will fit too, all i'm saying is that i'm not 100% that it will fit yet.

i'm thinking about jsut drilling a small 2 inch hole in the heatshield and having a simple tube, like AC hosing, it will help me get this out to you guys at a low price still and still serve the same purpose, it would hang either behind the edge of the splash guard or through a hole in it. i'll have to check on fitment but it wouldn't sit behind teh radiator

Was that a 'no' for a SuperCharger heatshield?

Hey Steve I jerry rigged a 2002 franken ram on my friends 95 max today . I turned the ram to the right with the long metal tube facing towards the winshield. Then I chopped the tube down so it was only a inch long. I connected the hose right above the TB to the modifed tube and then moved the battery over a inch. All in all it fit on but it looks pretty damn crude as specialy with the getto red hose I used . I left the little vacume line unpluged since I think it's only for emmisions. Anyways I was proud of my self and my friend loves it!
