think that the quality of the "older" generation of japanese cars were better.
I had an acura legend since 1987--which had 160K on it before it retired--someone else has it now--but jeez, that thing never had a rattle--not one--and it was solid.
The camry was a little "paper machete" feeling, but it too was solid without the rattles.
It is annoying because the maxima that most of us have is relatively new--it isn't as though we drive it and abuse it. Most of us tend to baby our cars--and this crap still happens. I wonder what will happen for those who never wash their car, etc...and abuse it?

i havent had a problem with my car yet....
but i wash it alot - once every 2 weeks when it snows if weather permits...
only rattle i have is steering wheel shimmy cuz of alignment...
other than that all good.....
