alright, question
i know that the autos are not to big on "handling power" i have been thinking about this for a while now
i know the diff in the gtp's can't handle the power
but what in the max goes out when boost is put to it???
the bands? diff? gears???

Re: Auto guys--------------->
It goes in this order after applying 300fwtq:
1. Axles snap on hard launches with slicks
2. clutch bands start to slip (assuming no shift kit)
3. Internal breakage.
4. high power rebuild and repeat step 1

I have made 37 runs down the 1/4 with mine so far this year and no problems yet. I will let you know if I do. I have no mods on the transmission except that I run at full line pressure by disconnectng the dropping resistor.

Start saving.. that tranny rebuild is going to be $$$$. I give it less than one year at the rate you're going.

see, thats what i was trying to get away from. i know they are weak, the 5 spds are weak as well
i was just trying to get exactly to the point on what goes. i know its not everything inside, it never is, is a slow reaction, like any other tranny.
and how the hell do you get full line pressure anyways?????
{trust me, you will be rewarded in the future is this plan works.}

It usually gives out without any warning. Reverse is usually the first gear you can't get into. I can start naming people that lost their auto tranny before 100K miles on 4th gens. I can think I can come up with 10 people right off the top of my head.

We will see. I am putting in an NX kit and will be running a 125 shot next week so if its gonna go its gonna go. So far it has been running very strong and still the same as when I bought it. I just get tired of one person saying something and everybody else jumping on the bandwagon until it becomes the gospel. I even hear people that don't even own the same Gen and same options giving out advice, not sure how they know this stuff.
