Finally PICS
Hmm
I hope that wasn't sarcasm.. I miss my protege so much..
My 6speed max is BONE stock, and i was crying when i let my protege go.. There was a lot of mods on my protege.
But going from modified to stock really really hurts!!
And my protege was very nimble. I could over take my new max any day in handling considering that it is a much smaller car.
But i still smile when i see my new max, just need time adjusting!!

Well my car was a really messed up car, tranny and engine problems as a result of driving it hard for 220,000kms...
But i never actually ran...
But if you take any 1990-94 Protege, 19xx MX3, and spend $4000 CDN (i think thats like 2500 US $), you will have a mazda that does mid 13's no problem.
I know three proteges running MID 13's..
Here is what your hard earned 2500US$ gets ya..
Convert your MX-6, Probe, 626, 323, MX-3, Protégé or even Escort into a Type-R KILLER for only a fraction of the money. If you are from around Ontario and if you attend import auto events, you might have heard or seen the little blue 323 from A-SPEC. We can take your Mazda 323 and convert it to a reliable 2.5L beast. The stock Mazda KL-03 motor makes around 170HP, take the nimble weight of a 323 and combine them two together and performance all of a sudden is not an issue anymore. For just a bit more investment you can have the more advanced KL-ZE ( Japanese ) original motor that features a higher compression, different cam shafts and improved intake manifold flow ( bigger runners ) that outperforms the KL-03 with its 200HP rating. The set up is much more favorable than some of the popular Honda swaps because everything bolts in and pay less than half the price of a Type-R conversion and get an engine that has more torque and more room to make power.
MAZDA 2.5L CONVERSIONS
Preferable Models:
Mazda MX-6 ( 92 - 97 )
Mazda 626 ( 92 - 97 )
Ford Probe ( 93 - 97 )
Ford Escorts ( 91 - 95 )
Mazda 323 ( 90 - 94 )
Mazda Protege ( 90 - 95 )
MX-3 ( 92 - 95 )
Full prices ( parts & install ) are set:
MX-6, Probe, 626, MX-3 (V6)
3000$ CND for the KL-ZE conversion
2500$ CND for the KL conversion
323, Protege, Escort, MX-3 (L4)
4300$ CND for the KL-ZE conversion
3800$ CND for the KL conversion
The reason why the small four cylinder cars ( 323, Escort, Protégé, MX-3 ) conversions are more expensive is because we believe that this package must be complimented with the right equipment for this kind of stress and power ... so we include all the items listed below for the conversion.
Stuff you get ( all MX-6 / MX-3 items )
Engine itself
Transmission
Drive Shaft
Computer & Harness
Engine Mounts
Sub Frame
Bigger MX-6 Front brakes ( full rear available )
Front MX-6 suspension
Front & ( optional ) Rear Strut bars
It makes sense to go with this package because we make it easy on you and you save money, getting all the parts above will cost you way more and if you decide to exclude some items for inferior parts your car will not be performing at its optimum and in the end you'll be forced to upgrade to better parts anyway.

not to mention, it's brand spanking new..
I wish i could afford to mod my new car.
I got 3000 dollars worth of top notch stereo equipment from my old protege, that i haven't even installed in the new 02..
Two reasons. I need an extra 200 dollars to get the harnessess, wires, steering wheel interfaces, etc..
and second reason.... BRAND NEW CAR!!! i am chicken $hit to do it.
I even have a compustar 2000AS remote starter alarm from my old car, and i am reallreally chicken $hit to install it... and on top of that, finding a person i trust to do it, which means MORE DOLLARS>...

SHhhHHHHhhhhhh!!! stop giving away our secrets... btw if anyone cares the recipe to a 12 or in some cases 11 second 500 WHP and 450 WTQ mazda....
Take a 1st gen 626/mx6/probe
--> drop in a 2.0 FE3 engine with DOHC 16V... forged crank and rods... 86 x 86 bore and stroke (supra styles)
--> lower the compression a bit with some forged pistons
--> get a turbo manifold made
--> slap a T66 (or whatever) on that beeootch and let her rip
--> not to mention SDS, better tires and all that crap like race gas and such that comes along with 11 second cars...
coming soon to a race track near you

Time to get more protege guys to convert... to maximas!!
Funny thing is after 1400kms on my car, my 2k2 doesn't seem as smooth as before..
Stop and go traffic is way worse than my protege... Every gear, on off throttle jerk is crazy..
Hmmm time to post this message in another thread..
I never stop thinking about my protege... It will always be in my heart.
The 2k2 seems much less personal.. LIke it doesn't seem like my car for some reason, even though I am paying a FORTUNE for it..
Go figure..
