The unbelievable...-Please Read, (long)

Driving home from the club last night at around 2:15am, Im following my friend home and a ford escort is swirving in between me and him and was just being a flat out jack as$ as we were going on the ramp to the highway. When we got on the highway, he decided to drive like an a-hole around me and my friend in a 3kGT VR4. After cutting us off numerous times we decided to slow down and let him be on his way, but he wanted to stick around and slowed down too. When we picked up normal hwy speed at around 60, he got in front of the vr4 and dicided to slam his brakes. Nate the veered out of the way and got around him and stayed in front of him. Next think I know, the guy nearly comes to a complete stop in front of me while I was going about 60-65. I had enough room to swirve out of the way, but thats only where the problems started.

I lost control of the car trying to straigten out and the car swung sideways in the middle of the highway and then straight into the concrete median. Head on impact at about 50-60 mph! the back end of the car swung out and hit then bounced me back again. by the time I stopped moving, i was facing the opposite direction. My friend saw me in his rear view and immediately backed up the the crash site. There she is, front end smashed right up into the firewall. The cars power went out completely, and when the car stopped moving, I reached for the key to either shut the car off or try to start it again, but the key was thrown out of the ignition. My center dash panel popped out and the climate controls were moved outward. I didnt even think about anything other than trying to get out of the car.

I got out, and walked away from the car. There was a guy that pulled over that was an EMT to check to see if I was okay. Then he called the police. They came and did their thing and then towed the car away. I have a big gash on my shin and a lot of pain in my chest, but I went to the hospital and got xrays done and the said I was fine. Gave me some Vicatin and sent me home to rest.

This my first accident, and I believe that its a miracle that Im alive right now, even with a few scratches. Im pretty shaken up, but I am home now, 3 hours later, and telling you guys the story. All in all, I am a decent driver...but it doesnt mean that these things don't happen. They do, and it can happen anytime anywhere. All I ask from all of the org members, is to DRIVE SAFELY.

I was supposed to spend 6 hours detailing my car today to prepare for the big NE meet, looks like it will have to take a raincheck. I am mostly worried about whats gonna happen, I dont have very much money because I just spent ALL of it on mods. Now, the car is sitting in a junkyard about 50 miles from my house and I dont know whos gonna be going through it tomorrow or whats gonna happen to all the parts. My car has 167k on it and as far as book value goes, I dont think Im going to get all that much out of it. I want to stay within the Maxima family when I get a new car, but right now I dont know what the future holds.

But for now, I am completely exhausted and I will be back later today hopefully with any pics I can take of her. May DaBox RIP.

dude

Dude I am so glad you're OK. Wow, what a story. I think there's some bum luck going around... but actually this seems kinda like good luck -- you can whack a concrete median at 50+ and walk away.

Sorry about your car...

IM me...

Glad to see your okay man, also glad to hear your story. Some people just dont understand the dangers when they think they are just playin around with other people...Sharing this story with the .org members may change one persons life...or view on driving, and if it does, then you did your job and lived up the the .org status!!!

Man, that sucks. That was one of the cleanest 3rd gens, and you just put all those exhaust mods on. I guess you'll have to find a 5 speed and swap all your mods out, hopefully the insurance gives you a good amount of money. Did you get the insurance from the guy in the escort, because it sounds like he was drunk or something.

Wow that really sucks. Sounds like it's time to hunt down that other guy.

Glad you're okay, that's a pretty impressive hit you had. I don't care what other people say, Maxima's hold up damn well in a crash.

Wow man, I knew it wasn't good when I saw the topic on the general forum.......But who cares about the car man, it can be replaced, Thankfully your okay, and were able to walk away from it by yourself, Imagine all the stuff that could of happened with a collision like that, I was looking forward to see the car and the mad scientist, But I guess we will have to hold off, get some rest then get this thing straightened out, Hope all works out, If you need any sort of help bro, Let me know......

Im sorry to hear about this horrible event, its great that you walked away from this accident and talking to us today! Did either one of you catch the license plate on the escort by any chance? I would sue the living crap out of that guy if you ever find him....

Im sure things will turn out for the best for you and your maxima future. Keep hope alive

I'm really sorry about that Clark! That sucks sooo much. Too bad you didn't get the plate number or something off of the reject who caused all this.

Thats what I was wondering too!

I'm happy you came out of the accident alive dude and sorry for your lose. If you can find the driver of the escort you could have a big lawsuit on your hands and a serious criminal charge brought on to him. Good luck!

Clark, I checked the book value. It it was insured, you should get $4100 minus your deductible for it. You should be able to pick up something decent for that price.

Clark, it's good to hear you're ok. I was in the back seat of a car when it hit a highway guardrail head-on at about 30mph, and that was bad enough. I hope you find the driver of that Escort. Your car was really nice. We'll miss you in the caravan.

That's too bad! Your car was one fine looking piece of machinery! If I knew where you lived, I'd go down to the junkyard and guard your car from the vultures. Don't worry, what goes around comes around...
