Both of these were sorta impromptu races in traffic coming back from PA to VA on Sat morning.

The GSX was modded with at least exhaust and behind another car, and I was behind him by maybe 10 cars or so at about 80. I didn't think he was going to go when the other car got out of the way so I was still in 5th, but I saw him take off so I downshifted to 4th. We were pretty even up to about 110 or so with him pulling on me slightly since he got the jump. He got off at the next exit and I didn't see any guages or anything - all I saw was the exhaust.

The Lightning was funny. I was at WOT in 4th around 90 or so and he was two lanes over and pulled a good 2-3 cars on me in just a second or two and I know he seriously wasn't even trying

Those things are freakin fast

 

Steve about the Lightning, I had one literally drive around me while in my Accord going about 100mph. He was ahead of me when I approached, he allowed me to pass on his left, he came in behind me and then passed me on my left, pulled in front of me and then sped off ahead of me.

Needless to say, it was discouraging. In retrospect, he probably could have done the same to me if I were running my Max.

 

i remembee doin something like that to a friend of mine who has a 2k grand prix, those things cant go faster then 108mph. so when he hit the limiter i passed him on the right side, chenged lanes and went over to his left side, slowed down til he was in front of me then i changes lanes again and passed on the right again til i pulled about 10cars on him. LOL u should have seen the look on his face, that was like 2months ago hes still angry at mr til this day

 

Any idea if it was a Type S? (My buddy just bought one & I'm thinking of "corrupting" him with the idea of "investing" in mods. )

 

Lightnings are sick!!! I ran a modded one from a stop...he easily put about 5 to 6 cars on me by 80! At the next light I asked him what he ran in the 1/4 and he said 13.1 on stock tires and 12.9 on drag radials.

 

Sheesh, and now the F-150 Harley is getting a blower too.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I hate those things, I didn't know what they were untill I started racing w/ him, there is a place near my house w/ many lights and I see this truck accelerating really hard from every green light, and i wasn't racint the first 1-2 lights, then I decide, why not, I won't spin the tires but come on, he's a truck, so I'll beat him anyways, so I do this and he just emberasses me, and the last light we do it again and he just rips me again, I was like, what he F, this is unbelievable

I asked him at the next light what he had under the hood and he said just a supercharged v8, I'm like, you bastard, new respect for those trucks

My girlfriend's 99.5 Lightning runs 12.2s on slicks. She ran a 13.4 stock if I recall.

 

My brother in law just got one 2 days ago...that is the sweetest looking truck inside and out on the road(besides the cadi's). He already knows whats up as soonas he puts 2k on the motor. I just want to see how bad he is going to beat me...those thing are running a slightly detuned lightning motor pushing over 300hp...a 4 door TRUCK that will stomp a z28 or gt...nasty nasty nasty...My brother in law doesnt know it, but he will be letting me borrow it very soon...
