-New Track Times-

Well we had a good turnout tonight at Rt. 66!! 6 Maximas showed up and ran some decent times. The 2k2 Autos were running 14.7's I believe with 2.1 60's !! BriGuyMax messed up his tranny, which really sucks. I beat Max7 (4th gen 5 speed with UDP, Full Exhuast, and Intake) 2 out of 3 times!! Nealoc187 ran a 14.6 if i remember correctly.

Well here is my best time

60'.....2.290
330.....6.379
1/8.....9.716
mph.....72.26
1000....12.607

1/4.....15.024
MPH.....94.50

The temperature was 75-80 degrees with a high humidity (85%). I had my front tires at 30 psi and rears at 44 during this run above. I was getting crappy 60's all night. I ran mainly low 15s.

It was 75 according to my cars climate control and the humidity was 85% when I checked. One auto had an intake and the other had no air filter in it. They ran high 14s, but trapped lower than me

It doesnt matter if you win by an inch, or a mile. Winning's winning.

I live my life one quarter pounder at a time. And in that ten seconds or less...

Ok, let's go again. I'm going to run my stock 16" rims, and take out the sub. This should be fun. My best 14.6 run was with my stock rims and horrible tires. The rims still have horrible tires, but I know I can drive better now, plus this will be with a UDP.

looking at your sig.. i see why you say good time

who runs 30 PSI at the track you should be down to 23 to 24 PSI

lower your tire pressure to 23 PSI.. slip the clutch from 4000 rpm's you get a 2.1 60ft and thats 14.8 1/4 mile time

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: -New Track Times-

when i ran, i had 25 psi up front. launching at 3k. that gave me the 2.3 60' time. i think all the other maxes that ran that night couldn't break into the 2.2's either. very bad track to get a good launch.

4000 is only if you can slip the clutch.. don't try it other wise.. you will just wheel hop and spin.. if you not a person who slips the clutch.. try 2500

when i was learning to drag race.. i use to launch at 3000 rpms.. and wheel hop like a ****..

but after speaking with Adam aka MY 4DSC .. mr. i launch at 5000 rpms.. he gave me pointers and then i could pretty much pull 2.1 and 2.0 60fts at 4500 rpms launch

I was launching primarily between 3250-3500 and side stepping the clutch. I tried lauching at 5k and slipping the clutch, but that resulted in massive wheelspin and a 2.7 60'. I believe my right tire caught some water from the burnout box on this run even. Neal and Brian got a good laugh out of this run

My problem is that my car seems to be slow out of the hole. I think the stock 17s on 235/45/17s anchors my car down. I really need some lighter rims.

5000??? damn! i have no problem w/ wheel hop at 3k @ the track. if i do that on the street though, i have it. i'm guessing u've got an ACT clutch or at least some sort of aftermarket clutch...

My best of the day was a 14.5 with a 2.29 60' time. I pulled a 2.199 and ran a 14.72. This track honestly is really inconsistent for me. My trap speeds were all over the place, and I couldn't do anything about it. I even tried running all the way to redline a few times and they still varied by almost 2mph... between low 94s and high 95s.

My 1/8 speeds were also strange. Every time I trapped in high 95s, I had 73.x mph 1/8th speeds, but when I trapped low 94s I had 75.5 or so 1/8th speeds. Definately the oddest, most frustrating and most inconsistent day I've ever had at the track.

I honestly think that is a myth. My highest trap speeds ever have always been on my best launches ever.

If you think about it that makes sense, as with a great launch you are accelerating at the maximum rate through the entire 1320 feet, rather than say spinning for 40 feet and then accelerating hard for the last 1280 feet.

i would definetly recommend the r6 over the zr-6r. those things haul a$$! i've only got an f2 but i'm going to learn how to ride it hard before i move up.

its going to be my first bike and yes i am craaaazzy .. wait. .no you are craaaazzy

well the only reason i would go with the ZX-6R over hte R6 is that you don't have to lean over to ride it.. so i can ride for hours

That and the kawi has a more user friendly powerband. The zx-6r starts making useable power around 6k rpms. I got to test ride a zx-6r on the blue ridge parkway and I loved it.

man, if it's ur first bike, i would not get either of those! u should def get something w/ a little less power. i would recommend either an f2 or f3. plenty of power but not enough to get you into real trouble. plus, it's a great handling bike, very forgiving and comfortable. just a thought though.

as long as ur not into racing it, u'll be fine just cruising around with those bikes. once u start hauling a$$ is when u have to be careful. ahhh, the freedoms of riding a bike...oh and to keep this maxima related...it's great to have a maxima when it rains!
