Got the SSRs. Volks no one has in stock!!long waiting time

This morning I woke up and said AAFES here I come so I just ordered the SSR's C's 18's. I did think about the 17's, but the car sits nice on 18's, I dont even spend my time at the track that much and besides I got a way to go therefor I can tune my supercharger. Also Redmaxpa007 said that any wheel with a Lip has to be at least 18 if you want it to look somewhat nice. Volks do weigh in at 17.5LBS and cost $60-$70 more then the SSRs each wheel. If I add another hundred that is the complete price with tires which are on sale at $143 a piece. I didnt pay the tax since I went with Army Airforce exhange. So that saved me another $120. So I went with the cheaper price SSR. SSR in 18 weigh in at 16.1 plus the 28lb tire =44.1 If I would have gone 17 it would have been 42Lbs tire and rim. two pounds is not going to make that much difference.

Also I heard a couple of complaints from Kumho tires so I am back to Nitto NT 555's. The Kumhos weigh in at 27lbs size 235/45 17. The nittos 28lbs size 245/40 18.

Finally decided on the SSR's Jaime? I like the Volk's too, but I can't justify paying that much for them. 44lbs total isn't that bad for 18" wheels with 245 series tires.

Didn't get my say in time

I have a set of 17X8 SSR Integrals A2 on my Max and love them. They are a 32mm offset that just clear the Wilwood brakes and line up perfectly to the front fender (the rear is another story, but it can't be helped). I got into my first incident with these wheels and I bumped a curb at 20 MPH...guess what?!?!? NO DAMAGE AT ALL. I had some red paint stuck on the rim of the wheel, but that just came out with water and 1600 grit sandpaper. No bends, dents, dings, or even a mark....IMPRESSIVE!!!

So, my experience leads to believe that SSR's SSF processing is far beyond the best way to make a wheel. My only gripe about the Type-C's (Competitions) is that there is no center cap and your wheel hubs stick out; which may dry the wheel bearings of lubricate faster. I bought my wheels at a bargain, used from a previous Mustang owner. But if I were to buy my wheels new, I'd look into Centerline's RPM wheels: One piece forged weighing in at

17" 13.51 lbs
18" 14.51 lbs
19" 15 lbs

As for the wheel dimensions, just get them even all around. That way you don't have to worry about the rotation and replacing tires.

What other tires can I get for a good price?, the 555's last a bit longer then the other 18 inch tires? the rubber compound is not that sticky if thats what you mean!

You pay for what you get. Stickey is what I mean. I guess you cant beat $143 a tire. But the Bridgestone Potenze S03's at $195 are a really good tire! When your spending this kinda bank on rims and tires whats $200 more to get a far superior tire.

Yeah, but the S03's are probably the heaviest tires out there. I think I'll go with Michelin Pilot Sport's the next time around when it's time for new wheels. Yes, it's expensive, but like you say, you get what you pay for. Plus, they are light.

Sold a long time ago to Mr. Nismo.

Axis Se7en's are on Hoon/Irvine78's car.

Kasai's are on my boss's 2002 3.5 SE Altima (m/t)

All I got left are volks. I'd still suggest the SSRs, and i think J made a good choice.

I was about so say man Dave whats going on with those GT1's on laying on the floor but you sold them!!You are the tirerack!! , Cumalot one of these days will order some wheels.

Matt I didnt go with the SO3s but since I have not placed the order Ill go on the base and see how much they retail for since once again we do get different price, but if not I cant spend $800 plus on tires. And also I was going to ask where did you get your tires mounted for $15 thats a good price.

Yah, theyre among my favorite wheels. Im kinda sad i let them go, but they were never on my car, being 17x7 +45 (off a lexus is300) .. too thin for me 17x7.5 and i woulda loved it.

Anyways, itll make George's car look nice. I think theyre a good balance of sport, performance, and still classy looking.

17x7 now we all see why you sold them. Mike might have got them off you if they were at least 7.5, but I think he likes 8.0 better.
