A question on differentials

Why can't a differential made for manual transmission equipped cars fit an automatic transmission equipped car?

I'm talking about the ATB/Quaife that Cattman sells as "Manual transmission only".

Just curious. Thanks

Check the part numbers for the non locking or non VLSD trannys to see if they are the same. If they are then it should fit, also nissan motorsports has a differential out for non VLSD SE-R auto/5spd trannys. Maybe you could try contacting them.

Lemme see if i got your response correct as i'm rather unfamiliar with this territory.

So you're saying i should check the part number of the Auto transmission and the VLSD equipped manual tranny?

As far as Nissan Moto goes, got URL? I tried nissanmotorsports.com and just got a blank screen.

Thanks

Those are two totally different animals.

Shadow, aka Jeff Kuo is working w/ Vitech to come out w/ a diff for the auto peeps. Check w/ him. Don't think it is in production yet though, but I think it is close.

Check the part # on the differential themselves for the auto and manual tranny. If they are the same then the quaiffe woudl swap over.
