A complete Nissan family!

My mom got a 97 SE auto. It has 80k miles, moonroof, Bose, Leather,.etc... We paid $9,700 for it. It's in mint condition.

That's 3 Maximas under one roof. Mine, my brother's 98 SE, and the mom's 97 SE. Oh yeah, and my dad has a Quest.

Nissan should give us some incentives.

I thought I had my parents convinced. I was the first in the family to break the all-honda trend (at one point we had three accords out of 5 cars) with the Max. Then my parents got two new cars to replace their accord and jag...

...and got a new Intrigue, and a new 2WD as-base-as-you-can-get F150?

That after they were looking at Altimas and Frontiers and whatnot. Sheesh

Sometimes it's good to diversify, all the same isn't necessarily the best. Say you got married, you have a max, your wife has a max, and you have a 3rd max just in case. Be nicer to have a S2000, 2k2 Camry, and A4 wagon.

I drive/drove a Altima, my girl drives a 2K2 Altima, and my mom drives a Max. She is gonna get the G35. So she is keeping it in the family.

Mom: E430 (tried to get her to buy Q45 but she wouldn't bite)
Brother: 4runner (possibly a 350z in the future)
Me: 2 Maximas! (2k sold, 2k2 now)
Family beater: Nissan Quest

Funny story, I looked over at a stoplight when I heard some revving, I was driving the quest because my max was in the shop. So I look over, and there's a corolla revving on a new 2.5 altima! The light turns green, and I figure "this should be interesting," so I floor it so that I can watch. Well, both the altima and the corolla are furiously glaring at each other, white-knuckling the steering wheel, shifting with all their might, and putting the gas to the floor. I was just flooring it and wanting to spectate but to my surprise I started to inch towards them. As the race, which by this time had made it to the blistering speed of 40mph, I evened out with first the corolla, then the altima. The guy in the corolla heard the raspy grunt of my neglected VG and looked over. I think his eyes just about popped out of his head as he realized he was getting slowly passed by a minivan and his foot was to the floor!

At 70mph, i tapped the brakes to slow down for my turn coming up and the two fast and furious cars flew by me sending a flurry of pebbles and street litter in their wake.

Why would you try to talk your mom out of an E430? Unless that's her first Benz, I can't see how a Benz driver would all of a sudden decide to look at Nissan.

This thread reminds me of an article in the NY TImes, not that anyone here would read it. There are 700,000 more cars in NJ than there are registered drivers. That's all about the Benjamins.

Me and my friend want to figure out a way to get a piece of the money that's changing hands every weekend at the shore. Why should we pay 22,000 a summer just to stay at the shore(divided by 6 though)? Then we ran real estate numbers and you can't get a decent place for less than 600,000, so here we go again. Takes money to make money. Doesn't take much to drive a nice car!

Since August '92, I have bought (all new): '92 Sentra SE, '94 Altima GXE, '96 Altima SE, '96 Maxima GXE, '00 Altima SE, '00 Maxima GXE, and '02 Maxima SE. And now I'm on the list for an Infiniti G35 Coupe.

I've often felt like Nissan owes me a little extra consideration or incentive. At least the dealers listen when I tell them all that.

Because! Let me tell you why.

The E430 is an overpriced german tank rebadged and disguised as a car. The damned thing costs over 10,000 more than a Q45 and you have to pay for every single option. The leather inside feels cheap and sterile, the car is the size of a panzer tank. It doesn't come with HID's standard. It doesn't rip pavement like the Q45 or look as nice. It doesn't have nissan/infiniti's reputation for reliability. It DOES have a reputation for crazy electrical gremlins post warrantee.

Yes, but it's a MERCEDES. And that's all you're really paying for =P
1000 a month lease for a car that you had to pay 1400 dollars for a sunroof/rear window shade option. Rediculous when you think about it.

Diversity

ME: 98 Max GLE
MOM: 88 Chevrolet Celebrity auto
DAD: 91 Mazda truck 5 spd (thing hauls for only 89 HP )
DAD's other vehicle: 95 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 auto

At school, we got a section of parking spaces which are right by the parking lot exit and the entrance to the school, meaning, the best parking spaces at school. There's only 4 spaces and every day it filled by Nissan cars in the exact same order

1- ME 98 Max GLE
2- 98 Green Pathfinder XE
3- 2000 Gold Pathfinder LE
4- 1993 Beige SX 240

Nissan owns! Well, these parking spaces for now

Duh? I meant silly stuff like, your interior color, auto window up-down, rear sunshade. HID's don't come standard on this luxury car. FFS HID's and auto windows were standard on my max. Each of these options is $1500 or more. Rediculous if you ask me. You have to think a great deal of your "image" to sacrifice so much to have a tri-star emblem on your hood.
