Subframe Connector installation: MIG or TIG welding?

Do the SFCs need to be MIG or TIG welded. I asked my maintenance mechanic if he could do it, and he said his welding equipment would not produce strong enough welds and that they would just break right off. I'm assuming he has a MIG welder and that the SFCs require TIG welding. Can anyone confirm that they require TIG?

WSP SFCs

Mig welding is the way to go. Any experienced muffler shop welder can easily install these. Look at our install page on our web address. Your guy probably just didn't feel he was up to the job. The welding is easy.

Mine were MIG welded on, they're holding beautifully.

All of my SFC's (the ones I build) are MIG welded, and that is how they are welded to the car. The weld will outlast the car. Your mechanic probably doesn't want to mess with them, so he is using that exuse as an out. But if he is not confident in his ability to weld them up, then definitely use someone else.
