do it yourself carbon fiber
i was looking into doing yourself/laying carbon fiber and i came up with some useful sites you might be interested in.
i was interested in doing the cover over the valve cover in carbon fiber.

I got some Carbon Fiber vinyl from Shadow.. it's really thin and looks like carbon fiber, only it doesn't have that 3 dimensional look.. but this stuff is great.. first i put it on my center console, looked pretty good.. then i stuck some on my door handles because i wanted to get rid of the chrome and didn't want to paint them. It's been over 6 months it has been on my car and it isn't even showing signs of coming off... this thing is on the exterior, it's been through the winter and car washes.. holding like glue... i don't think it will be able to sustain the temperature of the engine bay though, if you want to accent your manifold or other parts.... but it may.. it's cheap.. you guys can give it a try.
