Maxima vs. Probe GT
Hi I'm new here and just learning about Maximas. I read a thread on another board that didnt sound right:
http://www.probetalk.com/forums/show...did=1700984170
Does this sound possible? No stock Maxima will run with a turbo 4 cylinder Probe with a boost controller? I wouldnt think a 6 speed would have much trouble with one.

It is obvious they dont know what they are talking about. A 2k2 would wax a probe. That guy with a built motor running like 16 psi claims a 14.7???WTF??? A 2k2 would have no problem. A 3rd gen VE or 4th gen 5 speed should run pretty close.

Well...
I saw a guy's MX-6 turbo do some amazing times. He's pretty much stock with an exhaust, upgraded turbo, and controller. He hasn't and had no plans to do internals. He put out a good 220 HP to the wheels on the dyno and turned up a 13.82 on the quarter mile. I have an 89 Mazda 626 NA too. It's really lagging below 2,000 RPM and I'm thinking about doing something about. If it can't be fixed for a relatively low price ($200) I'm going to look into swapping a turbo motor into it. I hope the option exists.
