the older my Max gets (98) the higher the insurance
the older my Max gets (98) the higher the insurance
I really have little respect for the insurance industry, because instead of apportioning the risk and premiums correctly, they choose to do as little as possible and spread it out. I have a perfectly clean record, my Maxima is what, almost 4 1/2 years old, and I pay more for insurance than when it was brand new. Common sense says the Max is only worth about 40% of its original value by now.
Insurance needs to be more diligent and charge those that make claims more. At least the rates should stay the same when you have no claims and no incidents or violations. Yet every 6 months it goes up 5% or so. BTW I'm in the Philly suburbs.
Stamp out FRAUD!! It costs good drivers money!

Not really. My comment was rather in jest. I do believe that insurance companies stick to guys more than women, maybe rightly so. It just bugs me to see my insurance still rather high after 4 years without a ticket, and my wife's sister's insurance still cheap as ever after a couple recent tickets.

I think I read somewhere that women get into more accidents than men but men are considered more aggressive drivers and therefore the higher insurance premiums.

OK, Insuring in NJ SUCKS..I just had to do this..1500 a year on my 89 max..my record is ehh slightly soiled. I feel fortunate to get such a rate, even if it is the lowest coverage humanly possible.
Girls don't get screwed over, just screwed.. and jizzed over

the problem is
my 93 costs more to insure today than it did when i bought it in 95.( with a clean liscense no claims in 17 years.)
insurance rates (they claim) are largly based on the book likelyhood of the vehicle being in a reportable accident. look at the posts, about once a week someone wrecks his car.
the older a car gets, the more likely a younger owner owns it, the more likely they crash it, keepem between the lines.

I think everyone hates insurance and knows how dishonest a living it is. Dave Letterman just had a joke on his show last night. He had two Sopranos like guys leave the studio with baseball bats to pay a visit to an insurance agent. Then as a twist, they played baseball. But in the end, they broke the guys kneecaps. Even though it's all in fun and laughs, at least most people have the same low opinion on those people.
