its all about sweet spot and gearing..

every car has it.. and will beat anything at the right time..

my cousin's dodge caravan can put 2 cars on my maxima from a dead stop.. and it spins tires too

and 60 - 80 i saw him pull away from a Honda Accord..

hm...I thought you were just show? Anyway, if you want more power one word: ypipe.

At first I thought you ran with heavy 20s. Just imagine how many car lengths the Tahoe would have put on you if you ran with your 20s.

Is it the newer Tahoe? Even though it's heavy, it has a lot more torque than us.

Does it have a turbo? At one time Caravans had turbos.

Don't run him from a stop it will be worse becuase of the torque. I can see him beating you from a stop until about 30, after that you should pull. On the highway you should own him, especially at speeds above 55.

wope: I'll race you if you want since we don't live too far apart. I think you and Maximapower would be a good match. He has only an intake too and runs on heavy 17" Racing Hart C5's.

I never knew that. Those were unreliable crap to begin with, what years did they put turbos in?

MY dad has a 2001 tahoe and I just dont see it beating a maxima. I drove it and when you step on it it doesn't throw you back like a maxima. I think something is wrong with your car of your brother has something more then just an intake and exhaust.
Good Luck,
Paul

At one time Plymouth/Dodge minivans were available with a Mitsubishi made 2.5L Turbo. There was even a short lived 5 speed option, which is very popular among enthusiasts.

Believe it or not these engines are very easy to upgrade (boost increase) and will easilly hit mid 16 second 1/4 mile runs stock.

There is a website dedicated to these rare breed of enthusiasts who have now put the 2.5L Caravan into the 13's and 12's at the track.

FYI

2000 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 8.5 16.3/86MPH Automatic

These are the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. I dont have anything on the newest Tahoes, but I am pretty sure they are even faster than the 2000's. I think they are in the 15's for the 1/4 mile.

Tahoe's are high 15 second trucks stock. And intake is worth maybe a tenth or so. My daughter has a Tahoe and it doesn't even come close to accelerating as fast as my Maxima. My Maxima is a 2K2 so maybe that is the difference.

this is kinda funny, i raced my fiends tahoe last night. its a 97 LS with intake. i beat him 4 times in a row in my 90 se auto (all i got is a k&n cone filter) by a good 2 car lengths at least, and then i let off and hit the hazards. and they were all from stop too. he got ****ed because he thought he could take me. so i dont know what you were doing, seeing that you got a 4th gen, and that vq power...

Tahoes are faster then you might think. I have a '02 LT and it will move, oh, and it will consistently run civic si's (not that this says anything...) hahaha

yeah i think most people on here dont know that tahoes are quick.. he's killed civics from 0-100 (his limiter is like 101). there is a s/c kit for it that makes them run mid-high 13s

The new 6.0 has 300 H.P. and the 5.7 had 250 or 260 I believe. A stock VQ Maxima GLE beat me horribly in my Mom's Yukon XL with the 8.1 with 340 HP and 450+ torque. I would have thought you would have beat him.

The Yukon has torque and horsepower, but I think many of you are forgetting how heavy the sucker is. Wonder why sometimes some modded Hondas could beat us? Weight. It's a bigger factor than you can imagine.

Yeah just because its a truck (and not a Lightning) doesn't mean that it isn't pretty quick. My friend has a Dodge Dakota quad cab with V8 and it puts about 2 cars on my Maxima up to like 60 mph, both stock and auto. I can get him up top though.
