BEST DEAL EVER - Trans re-build for $330

I just saved myself A LOT of money with my trans.

As many people know, a member to remain un-named blew out my second gear two weeks ago.

I pulled the trans myself and took it to the trans shop that put my quaife in. I got the trans back today, and re-installed it with the help of Josh (Maxdriver847) and Jason (MAX2000JP) although Jason pretty much just sat and watched Josh and I work while he drank my beer.

All together this whole trans job only cost me $330 because my shop only charged me for parts.

I was sure it would be well over $600....I'm SO happy it wasn't.

Just thought I'd share....

BTW - After driving my parent's '84 Chevy Van for the past two weeks....I LOVE MY MAXIMA.....the car is so NICE....and FAST.

I'm sure that Josh is also happy to have his tools back!!

Glad to hear the tranny is up and running again!! I'm telling you, the three of us should start charging people to install mods. We can get htem done in record time!!

I got you beat : $250 got me a tranmission that had only 16,000 miles on it. It was so new that the brass parts were still shiny. Only thing was it had a busted differential and 1/2 case cause it was in a bad crash. But no matter, my Quaife replaced it and I just took the 1/2 transmission from my old tranny and used it. I also had to drive 500 miles round trip to pick it up. Got it cryogenically tempered, its still rolling, no leaks.

I put the plastic covers back on....Come on give me some credit here guys There wasnt much room in the garage for 3 guys to be working on the car plus there always seemed to be an unpleasant smell radiating from the garage that kept me away.

That nameless person should really learn how to drive
