Electric Superchargers and the horsepower gains

I've been hearing a lot of talk about Electric superchargers and what they can or can not do. A lot of people say that they actually cause the car to lose top end power. However top end power is not everything. The issues of this device kind of reminds me of a discussion a few years back on a Pontiac Grand Am Site(I used to own one) and aftermarket ECM chips where a person got quicker 0-60 times and 1/4 Mile times but when they went to the dyno, they actually lost 3hp. The benefits of a E-Ram electric supercharger are this. Ability to rev quicker, kind of like a Modified intake such as a conical K&N air filter. Slightly better top end power and a more linear power curve. With this device and a battery with more cold cranking amps it could offset the power losses caused by running this thing. I'd also like to point out with a 5 hp gain you are not going to see a huge amount of difference, but with more mid-range power you may be able to see the .2 0-60 increase in performance by running this thing and also a slight increase in torque on a dyno. I'd also recommend getting the Infinity's Exhaust system for the 5th Gens because it adds 5 hp gains and is the same used on the 20th anniversy edition. And then add the E-Ram on for even more gains

the thread is titled "Electric Superchargers and the horsepower gains", but then he goes on to talk about hp loss?

There should be a clause in the user agreement, or something in the faq that says if you post about any of the following you will have your post deleted to keep the forum from getting cluttered with crap.
1)anything about electric superchargers
2)can I just throw a 300zx turbo on my maxima
3)how can i make my FWD famly car handle like a BMW M3
4)any other silly question that you really should have thought about before you asked.

i believe that he is trying to say that our good friend tornado-air will improve hp over the powerband in general, but at the cost of a few peak hp. perhaps we need visuals. dynocharts!

Well it looks like you got beat up pretty badly on your first post, jemartin. But don't give up. Your writeup was intelligently stated. The problem, unfortunately, was the subject you chose to write about.

There's been a lot written about the E-Ram including a rather detailed technical analysis which shows that the product is simply incapable of producing the results it claims. Under the circumstances, it's not going to find much favor around here no matter how well you present it.

Before you take a position on another subject, you might want to conduct a search first. That may save you some embarrassment in future.

Keep coming back!

Was there a point? Try not to hit the bong until *after* you have formulated the idea and put it to paper.
