Let me do your BLUE LED window switches for you

Hey, I just did this mod with the Radioshack 276-311, the results are amazing, it looks great. I've gotten quite good at it and am considering doing this for other people. I can do all LEDS (9 total) for the 95-96 in blue or other colors, for now, I'm only doing the front doors only for 97-98. The price is 75 dollars+cost of LEDS (if you want to send your own that's fine, or I will buy them at radioshack for 2.99 each). You ship me your window switch module (it just flips out), and I'll have it in the mail back to you the same day. Another benefit of this service is that if you do this yourself, you have a chance of short circuiting and ruining your circuit, I will take ful responsibility for my work which guarantees a no hassle job well done. Let me know what you guys think, shoot me an e-mail.

Note: I do not have a digital camera, pic is from cheston's site

for 97/98, the rear window switches are pretty easy. Just use smaller 3mm LEDS.

I did mine 2 weeks ago, just 'adjusted' the driver switch because the AUTO was not illuminated properly.

Once you have removed the door switches, your factory antitheft will not function. Also, no power windows and power locks. Using the remote will not lock or unlock the doors, so please keep this in mind.

Manually lock & unlock doors and raise your windows.

Temporary, until you reconnect the door switch modules. If you figure the shipping time, etc, could be anywhere from 2 days - 2 weeks (?) depending on the shipping method and where you live.

I have no comment about the price ... if someone is willing to pay to have it done, it's their choice.

Truth is, a write-up is available on http://www.maximadriver.com and several other places, a lot of people have done it by themselves and they've been able to do it just fine. The LEDs cost $3 a piece, a soldering iron is about $10 or more depending on the one you choose (15W), solder sucker bulb is about $5-7, roll of solder is about $3-6. Obviously, you can see that the cost is not that much.

However, some people have screwed it up. If you got the $$$ and don't want to mess with it, then send it to brodaiga. Otherwise, do it yourself.

Radioshack typically stocks only 4 LEDs at a time. If you need 9 for all the switches, you need to visit several Radioshacks or order/stock them in advance. Just something that crossed my mind especially since brodaiga said that turnaround is the same day.

Are you sure you did it right man? I switched my LED's to blue in all the doors and everything still works perfectly on my max.

I think that was only when he removed the switches...but once he put them back in, everything worked fine.

Yes ... sorry, I didn't state that in the first post. See 2nd post.

Sheesh, I did mine for like $12 in LEDs and didn't have to cut or trim anything! Give a call to the guys at eLED for a set of their E7104QBC-D LEDs. They're the exact same size as stock for a perfect fit and they match my blue Intelliglow needles great.
