1996 Nissan XE Short Cab Pick up???

Your best bet would be to consult Consumer Reports Magazine and get ahold of their 'Frequency of Repair Records' issue. I think it comes out every January. It shows survey data for most makes and models. You could probably get back issues from your local library in one form or another.

My girlfriend drives a 95 XE pickup with 120,000 miles on it. The only major repairs she has had are a new alternator mounting bracket last month and it needs new brake rotors. I think they are very reliable trucks.

according to the 2001 consumer reports buying guide, the 96 Nissan pickup is more reliable than average. So yes, it's a good car. It also says that it should be in the 10,000-12,000 range, which of course will vary depending upon where you live and the shape and mileage of the vehicle.
