I'm currently in the process of getting an extra set of
intake collector and manifold with the TB attached, the cost was little to nothing so why not. For the past year, I always wanted to extrude/ported my manifolds for some HP gains. But here's my problem, I have read other post in the past dealing with this mod and there was no significant HP gain. Basically the cost for extrude hone may not be worth the little if any gains, is this true? I understand that different mods will react differently with other mods. So knowing this here are my engine mods, CAI, UDP, 2.5" exhaust, y-pipe but still using OEM muffler, also eng and tranny coolers. How will these mods react with the extrude/ported mainifolds and oversized TB, and will I be able to feel or see the difference on a dyno? See you in my rear view mirror, later

eh intake makes almost no gains whatsoever. loren dynoed a 1hp gain with equal conditions and he is boosted. I had a chance to buy a set but backed out due to that reason. hope this helps.

If anything since your getting the manifolds for dirty cheap you could do it. Also the oversize TB and port matched intake collector is all you need. Together you will get better throttle response and fuel economy. However the dyno might only show a 1-3hp gain (I dont know if this is true though). When I replaced my 54mm TB for a 60mm TB I noticed better throttle response and fuel mpg increase. Since the TB was only $50 for me its a bang for the buck mod. The extrude honed intake manifold might only add like 2-4hp once you get to 5000-6700rpm. I say you should get the JWT ECU first, then do the oversized TB/port matched intake collector. After that you can decide to do the honed exhaust manifolds. But there is no substitute for headers though .

for mildly modded vehicles, the gains are minimal. remember though, a little here and a little there add up.

Candiman. Is the intake manifold from a auto or 5-sp. For the VE, the auto and 5-sp manifolds are diff. I happen to have a auto intake and would like to trade for a 5-sp version. The 5-sp one will have the power valve actuator attached and the auto one will have nothing. Let me know!

It's the manifolds for the auto

I realize the difference between the auto and 5spd manifolds are the power valve actuator assy mounted on the side. When I look at my auto manifold there's a plate covering the area where the power valve actuator assy located, so couldn't you just swap the actuator assy, or are the manifold internals different between the two?

The power valve controls a plate inside the 5-sp manifold that turns it into a 2-stage type manifold. One for low end and both for high end. So yes, there is stuff inside the 5-sp one. You might be able to switch it but if you need an extra auto manifold, why not just swap with me? I need a 5-sp version anyway. Just take off the TB. I sold the TB off of this auto version. It's a little dirty but I'm sure you would want to clean it up anyway. This could work out really well for both of us.

Ok Jeff92SE, now I'm completely lost to exactly what you want>>>

1) I have a auto VE
2) I got a extra set manifolds from another auto VE (to reduce down time when and if I extrude/ploish the manifolds)
3) So basically I have two sets of auto manifolds, one presently on the car, the other set in the mail.

So what type of trade are you talking about, if you want one of these auto manifolds after I'm done you're more than welcome

Oops! I thought you had a 5-sp intake. Sorry about the confusion!
