Y-Pipe hangs too low
I had my Y-Pipe removed by a shop tech last week to check for constriction, because of my boost issues.
We looked in it, and it seemed fine. he put it back.
All week it's been scraping. It's hanging lower than before, and the wrap around it is thrashed.
Questions:
How important is that wrap?
How do I make it sit higher? I was under the lift when he put it on, and it's tight on there.

The guy at the shop said his tech isn't in today, but I could borrow the lift and fix it myself if I want.

Re: Y-Pipe hangs too low
It's unusual that the Y-pipe sits lower now. I'm assuming you are talking about the section after the flex? ...because if the front was tightened up, the front of the pipe should be the same. In any case, make sure that the rear bracket holding the end of the y-pipe up is properly hung... Other than than, it is possible he messed up the bracket. On my cattman, the exhaust guy who installed mine said that it was pretty rusty so he just got a bar and bent then ends for the hangers and tack-welded it to the Y-pipe. It works well...
