Nitrous purge tubing

I'm in the process of rerouting my nitrous purge tubing. Is it possible to use SS braided line instead of the hard line?

since its high pressure.. i don't see why not.. i mean when i was testing to see if the Nitrous was working i disconnected the SS Hose and tried.. so technically it was like a purge valve..

Re: Re: Nitrous purge tubing

One difference might be the visual effects Since the hardline is much smaller in diameter, the vapor would shoot higher. With SS line, the dia. would be larger. I'm just too lazy to make all those bends.

I just used clear plastic gas line hose and put a brass nozzle through bottom side of the rain tray. I attach the plastic hose to the bottom side and put a tie wrap on to secure it, works great. I have been using it like that for about 4 months now.

So you are using the high pressure nylon line right? What size? 1/8"? What does the brass nozzle look like? Currently, mine is just a hard line pointing down to the ground. Nothing at the end of it.

i used 1/8 copper capillary tubing. it was the closest thing i could find to what the NOS purge kit comes with.

I am just using the cheap plastic hose, the see through stuff they use on motorcycle gas lines. The nozzle as I call it is just a double barbed fitting that fits inside the plastic hose.
Not exactly sure of the size of the plastic but just slides over the original steel purge line. I had to flare the original steel line to get the plastic line to hold and then put a tie wrap on it as well. I put the double ended barbed fitting throught the rain tray from the bottom so it would not blow off the end.

I have actually seen a setup with a larger purge line and it is spectacular compared to mine, higher and wider pretty neat so I am thinking about making my line larger.

Yes the purge solenoid is 1/8 NPT

PS I even tried a Y at one point to get dual outlets but it didn't work well, got more out of one end that the other so didn't look that great.

yeah, 1/8, same as all the other super powershot solenoids.

i tried spliting the purge line before also. on that setup i used two 3AN lines with a 3AN t-fitting. it was ok, nothing spectacular. i think the dual thing would work better with the capillary tubing, but i never tried it.. too lazy.

Hmm..I think I'm just going to use smallest SS braided line I can find. Now, what should I mount at the end of it? A barb? A real nitrous straight nozzle? or just reuse a little bit of that hard line that came with the purge kit?

Whatever you use at the end just make sure it don't move, gotta be anchored solid. They go crazy a that pressure if it gets loose.
