ventus tires???

Anyone ever use Ventus tires on their maxima? Town Fair tire is telling me they're good, but I never heard of them.

They seem decent. They're made by Honkook who's been in the tire industry for god knows how long. I think that they're just about the same as gettin Kumho's from Tirerack.com.

Verdicts still out on these but the company is well known. They've sponsored SCCA racing this year and throwing good $$ at us

They are pieces of s***

I had Ventus 405 Plus on my car in 225/40/18.

Don't get me wrong they stick to the road like glue but, they are noisy as hell. On bumpy roads and bridges it sounds like someone is slapping you rubber with a paddle.
They don't have real good hydroplane resistance.
They don't last long, after 8 months I had no tread on the front and I could say just about the same for the rear.
Oh, and maybe it is due to the very stiff reinforced sidewall, but this tire rode hard. Hitting bumps on these even with factory suspension feels like running off a curb at times. You could feel every bit of grain in the road.

Just my 2 cents

Wouldn't that be the case for any 40 series tire? Especially with larger heavier wheels?

After riding in other peoples cars (with heavy 18s) and other brands of tires I was not very pleased with the Ventus.

Fair enough comparison.

they ore ok. get them in a 235/45zr17 or 235/40zr18 or 245/40zr18 as far as ride is concearned hos do you think a 40series low profile is going to ride? if you want a name brand pay the money and get them. dry traction in them is good and wet is about as good as any low cost tire in this price bracket.
