eDead Sound Deadener Sale

Is anyone interested in a discounted price on some sound deadener? As a few of you know, I work for Elemental Designs as a representative.

I just got a deal for maxima.org members. This is a one time deal, and will last for 2 weeks. The discount is approximately 20% off 2 different packages of deadener.

We have the v.1 43 mil deadener for $40 for 40 ft^2, plus shipping (normal price $50)
Our V.1 is our original deadening material featuring a self adhesive layer for ease of installation and a alumninum backing for durability in applications in direct sunlight to repel UV rays. We recommend the V.1 deadening for use in doors, trunks, ceilings, floors, and interior paneling.

We have the v.2 60 mil deadener for $48 for 40 ft^2, plus shipping.(normal price $60)
Our V.2 is our newest deadening solution. eDead V.2 features more mass for more weight where it matters. eDead V.2 also features a extremely adhesive backing just like V.1. V.2 features backing designed to be more porous and offer extreme bondability between layers. We recommend the V.2 installation for use in doors, and flooring. Not for installation in direct sunlight.

These links are only accessible from this thread, and cannot be accessed through the normal Elemental Designs storefront.

Thank You,
Eric Vincent

Just so you guys realize, the v.2 is comparable to Dynamat Extreme, which lists for 249.95, here. so youre saving over $200 for something with a different label on it.

The equivalent to v.1 is here, and it saves you over $150 over having Dynamat's name on it.

IIRC, it should cover the doors, with a little left over. I'm not totally sure tho, I just went ahead and bought 120ft of the v.2, but havent put it in my car yet. I believe 120 square feet should do the doors, the floor at least 1x, and the rear deck, but seeing as I don't have a maxima/i30 yet, I cant tell you for sure.

As far as pics go, it is identical to how dynamat extreme installs, but is a ton cheaper. You dont really need to heat it or anything (although it can help), you just use a wood roller, and it goes down real easy.

Eric

*edit* As far as other information goes, you can check http://www.edesignaudio.com/ep/edead.htm for more info. And for those interested, our K series drivers are still on sale for a little while longer.

How are the two brahma 15's working for you? I'm debating those, but with 2 shivas i still cant stop my trunk rattle. Might have to pick up some of this stuff.

Well, unfortunately, i only have 1 'treating' me now. I dont have a box for the 2nd one, nor the power. I'm workin on it tho. ~6 cubes tuned to 30 hz for the pair... I doubt I'll need to upgrade in the near future, unless i get to the point i can't hear anything--which may not be far off, or if i get them taken away

ratio

4in by 12in is a square foot. 20 square feet should cover an entire truck as well as the truck lid so 40 square feet should do you trunk as well as all 4 doors and your roof.

4 x 12? That is 1/3 of a square foot...12 x 12 is a square foot.

How about 4in by 36in, or 144 sq inches = 1 square foot.

Then try 192.8 cm X 192.8 cm, that's pretty damn square, but will take some cutting of a 40 foot roll to create.

Nah, silly would be cutting it up into 37,161 individual square centimeters or the same number of right triangles with length and height of 1.41 cm.

they should make them in different colors so we can make mozaic murals in the trunk.

Nah, they would probably charge more so we would just use spray paint instead.

Well guys, I want to thank you for your patronage, and to tell you guys that the decision has been made to extend the deal a little while longer. We are currently out of stock on some of our deadening material, but we will be getting some shipments in soon.

Thanx,

Well, to put it in exact terms, I asked the president whether it was over saturday or sunday (since he said 2 weeks only)...and he told me, "we dont have to end it now..." and didnt leave an end on it. I have a feeling you'll have plenty of time to get your check cashed, and get the eDead ordered.

Yeah, cause I'm interested in doing the whole interior of my car to get rid of the road noise. How much to effectively do the whole interior of my car??

Well, its not really made to 'quiet' your car. What deadener does, is stop rattles that make the noise. It usually does quiet your car, but that is just an 'also' affect. If youve ever listened to your stereo at a decent level and something sounded funny, then a resonating plastic panel probably has SOMETHING to do with that. Obviously, you can blow a speaker, and no matter how much deadener you use, it will still sound horrible.

As for how much to use, it will probably take about 40 ft2 to do your doors with a little mat to spare, IIRC. I bought 120 ft2 of the v.2, because I want to deaden my car to the point where I have no rattles at any volume. keep in mind that if you end up with a little extra, you can go back and double up on problem areas.

Is there something out there that I can use with a layer of the deadener to "quiet" my car?

Well, v.1 is primararily for use on things that will be upside down, as it weighs less. v.2 will work fine in the trunk, but we because of its weight, we do not reccomend mounting it on the roof of your car or the roof of your trunk.

Jute works very well for that. I can't remember for the life of me where to get it tho. It is the same stuff that is under your factory carpet in your car, but it cannot be used IN doors...as it holds moisture.

Good question, I've been thinking about going with Fatmat extreme, that stuff is sweet, good prices too, it's the shipping price that sucks. It's like Dynamat Extreme and is foil backed. Is the eDead as thick as Dmat Extreme and does it stick as well?

The only difference between eDead and dynamat is the logo on there, and price. I know the shipping seems horrible, but when you consider that its only costing you 20% of what dynamat would, it doesnt seem quite so bad.

As far as samples, you would have to email eD sales department about the samples.

I think I'm going to order 40 sqft for my doors, that should be enough right? Is that doubling up on them or just once?

Shouldnt be too much more than 10 bux for each 40 ft. of deadener, so 20 bux should cover it.

That should be just about right for your doors. If you have any left over, you could use it to reinforce your front doors around the speakers, or on problem areas around the taillights.

I just finished installing the deadener in my trunk. You will need all 40ft to thoroughly do one layer in the trunk. The stuff works great and installes very easy.

nismo240sx, what problem areas around the taillight are you talking about?

mb1, did you have a sub in the trunk? did you notice a big difference in the reduction of trunk flex/rattling? also, did you apply the edead with one of those wooden rollers?

I don't know about flex, but the rattling is reduced
no, I don't see how you can use a roller on a contoured surface
