OK, so how are we supposed to find someone on the board that can do this, but is also close to us? Is there a specific board I can post in to find out? I'm new to these forums, in case you didn't look at my profile. BTW, I'm in AL.

this thing is pretty cool, i installed the beta model on my car not too long ago. i haven't had any problems with it so far, however it doesn't send out pages immediately, i think it pages by 15 second intervals to save battery.

funny don installed it for me and i get responses in less than a second when opening, closing car.

takes 5-8 seconds for remote start to kick in

However if my alarm goes off it takes a good 7 - 10 seconds for my pager to go off but every pager i've had before that did the same thing just about....

I drove 4.5 hours from VA, well I made it to Don's in less than 4 thanks to a special Corvette that wanted to have a little fun. It was worth the ride to meet a fellow orger.

Don,

How much are you charging for just installation?
I just brought the Prestige APS-996. Can you install that? If it is not good then I can always return it and try to exchange it to the Viper Responder 790vx. How long does it take to get the alarm installed? Thanks.

Install takes generally about 3 hours. Alot of times less, but I like the customers to be prepared to not have their car for that period of time. I can install your prestige, but CANNOT warranty someone elses product. In which case Prestige (Audiovox) has been known to have problems. I can only give a price if I can actually see the product you have as well.

I met Don yesterday. He installed my in dash 7" screen for me. He is really a great guy. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and thorough. I would highly recommend him to anyone for any type of audio/video setup or alarm. I gotta go see him soon to get my Viper 790 put in along with a stereo system. Thanks again Don.

I may start a group deal for the Viper Responder 790XV soon. I think the one I ran for the Viper 550ESP went well, so lets see what kind of interests there are for this one.

The pricing will be alot higher than the 550s were, but there are alot more features as most of you already know.

Details can be found here:

http://www.directed.com/security/responder/default.asp

This GD will only apply to local people or those willing to travel to me. I cannot sell Viper over the counter for people to do themselves. Installation is required.

--Don

UPDATE: Pricing will be $499 installed, lifetime warranty on product and install. Additional parts may be required or requested at additional fees.

If you already have gotten a 550ESP from the previous GD then the price will only be $299 installed.

This require 12+ people to do, as with the last one I didnt do an expiration because I know people will still pop up here and there. I will leave this the same way, especially with Christmas coming around the corner...

--Don

If people would like to buy these outright, it may be possible, but I will remove the serial number and that will void your warranty. Please strongly consider this before asking.
damn you don .... now you got me seriously thinking about the security of my car. when is the exact day this GD ends?

DEI does not all ANY over the counter sales. The Viper products must be proffesionally installed.

EVERYTHING is on Ebay, there really isnt any way to stop every single person, but the ones on Ebay will not carry a warranty, and the local shop that installs it for you will end up charging a small fortune to install it.

Re: Viper Responder 790XV UPDATED new price

I had Don install the Viper Responder 790xv on my '03 Max a few weeks ago. From all the feedback on Don, I was expecting great work and sure enough he lived up to his reputation.

Don, did a great job. I can't imagine any other installer knowing their way around a Maxima better than him. He had the system installed and working in no time leaving the car in perfect condition. He also took the time to explain things to ignorant me along the way.

I'm overall impressed with the Viper Responder. While I can't speak for the other 2-way systems on the market. The Viper has the name and proven history of a reliable unit.

If you're in the Northeast area I would definitely recommend the drive to Don to have your alarm professionally installed at an unbelievable price.

Thanks!!
