Mmmmm........Evo 5's.....Mmmmmmmm

Damn I love these wheels! Not that I actually have the money, but just wondering how would I get a group deal going for these wheels? Possible for this summer, when I start working some major overtime. Do I just call up a distributor and ask about a discount for maxima.org?
Thanks,
Dan

I don't know if Tire Rack would do a group deal or not, but you could try there.

Ok, thanks, maybe I could get a deal going with decent tires mounted and ballenced. I am thinking 18's by the way.

I went to tirerack.com and priced out 4 18x8 Evo 5's with Dunlop Sport A2's 235-40WR tires mounted and balenced and shipping (at least to where I live) and the total was about $1,530. Even if I could get a group deal going for lets say 10% off, it would still be a lot, but I LOVE THESE WHEELS! I think they are by far the best looking wheels for the 4th gen Max. I hope I have more money come summer.

Even though they are heavier and my car is slower. I like these better. My handling is better than the 17X7 Konigs.

I'd definitely be down for 18's. I am planning on buying them by June anyways. Is tirerack the only place that sells them? I've looked everywhere. What 245/40R18 tires should I get? I'm looking at NT 555 Extreme Performance for $560 shipped at discounttiredirect, Yokohama AVS Sport for $730 w/o s/h, Dunlop SP Sport 9000 for $730 w/o s/h, & Sumitomo HTR Z II for $564 w/o s/h all at tirerack. I am looking for a strictly summer tire since i already have winter tires. Any recs? If you get this group deal going and finished before June, definitely count me in.

I was also thinking of getting wheels this spring and Evo 5's are one of my favorite choices.

I would be down for a group deal on these wheels. I would ask tirerack or wherever if they will give us a 10% discount on the packages even if we all order different tires. It might be hard to get everyone to agree on the same tire.

I will help you set up the group deal if you want. Starting to collect names soon and ordering in April might work good. I have talked to some people at the tire rack in the past, but does anyone have a good contact who they know and trust?

Anyone know of anywhere else that may offer a deal on quantities? The tirerack is big so they may not care, but with only 5 people, that could be an $8000 sale.

I don't think you will be able to start a GD. Because the guy at TireRack.com told me they have been discontinued. And they are just selling whatever they have left. I don't thing they have enough in inventory to do a GD. Because the only TireRack that has them in stock is the one in California.

I'll be ordering mine soon as well, probably by mid-March at the latest.

Also 18s, and with Kumho Tires. I've been wanting these wheels since I first bought my Maxima. Now everyone has them, but I don't care. I've yet to see any cars with them around me.

Later,
-Nick

Hey just outta curiousity, even though some of u already posted, for those of u getting 18s what tire size are u gonna get? I dunno whether to go with 235s which are what tirerack recommends or 245s. Im lowered and dont wanna rub, but i also dont wanna have a rough ride.

If I ever get the money for these wheels with decent tires I will probobly go the recomended 235's. If a tire is too wide, it can hurt your acceleration as well.

Same way I felt. When I got my Evo5's quite a few people had them, but no one around here. I also wanted them for 3 years, since I got my Maxima.

i was worried bout the same thing. a lot of people have 245's and they have theirs dropped and don't rub. im gonna go with 245/40zr19. you shouldn't worry i think his name is speedy and he has 20's. u should be fine.....

Is anyone else looking to get 19x8.5 besides me? I would love to get my hands on a cheap set of these.

Well, s**t, a group deal would be just my luck - my Evo's were delivered last week.

In case anyone's keeping track, I got 18x8's with ES100's.

Someday spring will come, and I'll be able to put them on my car!

Considering I was the first fith gen with 19's, im just tired of seeing thise wheel pop up on every max on the ORG. Thats why Im throwing mine out by the summer, and geting something new. Yes, everyone likes them, but it seems like now everyone has them. NO GD !

Imitation IS the most sincere form of flattery. By the way, what are you looking at to replace the Evo5's

Sorry, Kloogy....just kidding

Seriously, though....I'm in northern NJ, and I've never seen a Max with the Evo's on it yet (aside from the org, naturally). The Evo's are by far the sweetest wheel for the price. If my budget weren't so limited, I'd have gone with a BBS for sure (I hate being one of the crowd, too), but they're just not an option. I'm sorry to contribute to your dislike of the Evo's, but I can't wait to see what you come up with.

EVO GD

After many phone calls and contacts this is very close to what the final price will be based on "total" of 6 sets in any size...

17x8 MM EVO $725+shipping
18x8 MM EVO $850+shipping
19x8.5 MM EVO $1150+shipping
The average shipping to 48 States will be around $55/set

I've done a lot of research on Mille Miglia EVOs and this is the cheapest you'll find anywhere (including Tire Rack).
If you are serious about it please make a list including your user name and size interested and I'll post a new tread about more details this weekend.
Also I rather keep tires out of this deal becuase of all the shipping hasstle, expense...etc.

The 19's are nice, but not really a viable option on NJ's roads. I don't care for chrome wheels at all, but that's just me. Mods should be about what you like though....not for anyone else.

Balancing is done "after" you mount the tires.
Does not include Lug nuts or Hub Centric Rings ($25/set)

Where should I get lug nuts and hub centric rings? What lock lugs should I get?
