well
actually if you try to find a 7 inch lcd you will not find a high quality one for under 350$. Many will be like 450$. All the ones you see on ebay that are made by pyle and other generic companys are really worthless. The resolution of them is really ****ty and you will be ****ed if you buy them. Yes I honestly will say that 230$ is not cheap for a small 7 inch lcd, however the market speaks for itself, and the retailers like to rip people really bad, so 230$ actually is a good deal. I would think something like this should cost 100$ however lcds are basically new, and everyone wants them, so they sell for high prices.

I have it and it fits perfectly in the Double Din area. Unlike some other 7" monitors where your going to have to buy it and see if they fit or custom fit it in the Double Din area.

The kenwood 911 is just a single din you just have to buy the install kit to convert it to single din.

unless your talking about the 8" touch screen. The double din is only big enough for 7" you can shave the sides to make the kenwood fit.

I've test fitted a dozen plus 7" monitors, and this is the only one with a slim enough housing that actually fits. Trim the plastic a little and it fits nice and snug, you don't have to use any special bracket or glue.

The real bonus is that the resolution and viewing angles associated with this monitor are consistant with monitors costing 2-3 times as much. And that's no exageration.

Just a little off the sides of the monitor housing. You could use tin snips or a soldering iron to do it...but a dremel tools is the easiest. Trimming the plastic allows you to pretty much clamp the monitor between the plastic radio trim and the metal radio/climate control bracket. Works out real well. You'll see what I mean when you get it. The best part is no modification to any part of your car, so you can easily go back to stock.

so those of you with redmax's tv which headunit are you using? I think I want an in dash dvd in the bottom slot but I'm not sure which one to get. The panasonic on ebay looks ok but i'm not sure if it has all the features I want.

There's not many single din headunits that won't fit there. I've had a Nissan Factory CD player in there, a Pioneer unit, a sony, and now a Clarion. They all fit in and bolt to existing holes. No modifications neccessary. In terms of a DVD player, I went the cheap way...I already had the Clarion HU with an aux-in for the sound, so I got one of the $100 mobile DVD players off eBay. It's as tall as a regular HU, but narrower...the smallest I've ever seen, (I can get the brandname if you want), I cut into the passenger side of the center part of the dash down next to the carpet...bolted in in there. Worked out real nice. Sorry, no pics.

Go to Crutchfield.com, or Best Buy, or eBay, etc., pick one you like. All standard HU will fit where the tray is now under the 7' screen.

Personally I've always liked Clarion HU's. But, if you want something that fewer people have go with Eclipse or Denon...high quality, and great features and looks. Find one with an aux input, it makes hooking the DVD sound up easier, it'll sound better, and you don't have to buy an additional FM modulator.

Check out these sites.

viewing angle percentage and resolutions
do any of you know the viewing angle percentage and the resolutions?

for example---a monitor can have a 80% viewing angle...7000 X 900 resolutions just to throw numbers out there...

basically i wanna know the specifications....

Also, does anyone now the how many cmd the monitor emits? (cmd=how bright/visible the screen is when the sun is shinning on it)

what is the make and model of it? i maybe interested too, but want to know the specs first.
