Can I see some headlight shots of the 6500K and 8500K?
How blue is the blue on the 6500K compared to the 8500K?
Same for the Purple? Sorry for all the questions.

no biggie with the questions.. I can't do headshots unless I have someone to volunteer your car for the sample pics. Also, I've tried taking pictures of my PIAA su[erwhite bulbs vs. my 6000K HID kit but both look virtually the same (the HID had a lil green tint). Experience tells me that even IF I can get headshots of the HID system, you will not be able to tell the difference.
PIAA Superwhites
6000K HID

Main difference bet. the 6500K and the 8500K is the brightness (intensity level). The 8500K has a brighter intensity output than the 6500K, color remains the same.

Meccanoble- If you're serious about getting these, maybe we can hook up at Don's and have him install both 6500K and 8500K into your Max to take headshots next week. Maybe I'm mistaken, but wouldn't you go to him to get the HID installed anyway?

I am very interested. I like how you have a selection of a lot of different K kits, but I would like to know what K would be safe for driving without the worry of getting pulled over. Also the April showers are coming up soon, which kit will be the best in that condition? Also, is there any fitment issues, will this fit pretty much without much modification. Any explanation is appreciated. Thank you for you time

Brand is LAJAKING/SOYA I think referring it to RedlineMax HID System will be easier for everyone.

Looks like I will have the 6500K and 8500K systems installed (either on my car or Meccannoble's) next week and take some pics.

So you are saying color wise 6500K is same as 8500K but its just a difference of brightness between the two. I'm looking for nice blue color. But if they are the same in color. I guess put me up for a 6500K in blue. Also if you can some pics of the purple, I would like to see the difference. I seen some that claim to be purple but it's actually PINK!! Thanks a bunch 97MaxGurl

question

Hey AnGe,

I have a concern that I think is worth clearing up. How can a difference in Kelvin temperature change the intensity of the light output? I've learned that the number only signifies color temperature, such as temperatures of stars. Our sun is around 4000k if I remember right, and some other stars are @ 8000k plus which is a blue tone, but neither is really brighter than the other.

I also know that as color temperature gets higher, intensity gets lower since there is more blue in the light output. As you know, blue is a bit straining on the eyes sometimes and if you've even see ricer cars from behind, their blue light output looks so dim and horrible.

Anyway, I'm just addressing this issue because I'm going to go HID pretty soon.

DpG $h0rTeE: Not sure if its DS2 or DSR.. I'm far from being an HID expert. I believe it's D2R, but I'll confirm that with you when I speak with the manufacturer next week.

2.5Nismo: Output of 8500K has more glare than the 6500K.. a lot of people mistaken the glare for brightness.

TurDz: That's correct (See my response to 2.5Nismo). 4100K is daylight white, 6000K is slightly bluish white). But the 6500K and the 8500K is what I got in. I wouldn't sell these HIDs if they had dim output

We can get on this whenever we hit 20 ppl on the list. Shouldn't be too hard once I post up some pics of the HID installed on my car (or Meccanoble's).

I'm located in NJ (off Exit 9 by New Brunswick). You can either pick it up from me in NJ or Brooklyn NY (that's where my warehouse is).

Yes. Safe to say 5 at this time.

Given my experience doing groupdeals, the last thing I want to do is take people's words for granted. Things happen and sometimes people who originally are 'in' on the groupdeal backs out for whatever personal reason.

Don't worry bout the # of people right now, it's early
Keep in mind that nighttime pics are hard to take, unless you have an expensive digicam Those pics I've seen of people's HID systems almost NEVER do any justice compared to seeing them in person. But for whatever its worth, I'll get some pictures towards end of next week.

I'll extend the deadline til April 11, 2003. That's not a big deal.

NYCe MaXiMa: We've known each other for over 2 years here on the .org. Email or AIM me and we'll make it happen.

Best,

Looks pretty good, and from what I can see it looks like a D2R bulb. Can you also get just D2R bulbs (if so how much)? I have a Phillips kit, and I have yet to find a place to buy replacement 9004 D2R bulbs I haven't had any problems, and the bulbs are supposed to last a long time, but it's not comforting knowing of nowhere to buy replacement bulbs.

I may be interested. I have only experienced real HIDs in my grandfathers Acura 3.2TL. I was very impressed with the light output.

How do HID lights do in wet conditions? Right now I am using some Eurolite fake HID bulbs and they are absolutly horrible in when the ground is wet. If HIDs eliminate this problem, I am more likely to jump on the GD.

thanks,

Ange,
How does the 6500 white compare to the PIAA xtreme's you have? I have PIAA's in my fogs and heads and the heads look too yellow. The fogs are a perfect white, with a hint of blue. Thats what I'm looking for in HID's. I want great light output with a nice white (possible hint of blue) light.

Thanks

I had the PIAA Superwhites.. it cannot be compared to HID's output. The only good thing about using PIAA bulbs is that you get to keep hi/lo.

I'm sure they can't be compared as far as briteness, I was thinking more about color. The way I understand it (which I admit to know nothing about) the kelvin temp (6500k) refers to the color of the light, the lumens is the brightness. If that is the case, correct me if I'm wrong, how could there be different colors at the same kelvin temp? I would think the 6500k would be white w/blue tint, the 8500k would be somewhere in the purple color range.

I'd love to see the 6500k kit in person, pics never do justice.
