Sounds like I need to travel to NY, I'm in MTL, since I never removed the VB, can they ship the VB and upon install I send back my VB, it might be cheaper for me to swap instead of travelling but a week-end in NY can be cool, I'm interested in that group deal, let me know if swap is possible.

Cheers

Thanks. sorry for all the questions but search isn't working for now.

What is different from this VB to factory VB. Also, is this for all year or is this ava. for 5th gen?

thanks again.

what they do is take your VB, or a donor one (u'll have to give them yours, then), and modify it (thats the "know-how" part). it will shift the tranny faster from gear to gear (more positive shifts), which cuts down on the heat produced by clutches inside the tranny, which prolongs its life. they might offer to change solenoids (for extra $) if you have more than 80-90k on the tranny. worthy investment, i think.

We have cores available for 3rd & 4th gens and 1 core for 5th gen. We can either send you a core with the kit installed (there is a $200 refundable core charge) or you can send use your VB for recalibration (there is a one day turnaround and we pay shipping back to you) or you can come in with the car and have us install the VB at no additional cost, and yes you can wait(takes about 2 hours).
We have solenoids available. They cost $150 and there is no additional cost for install. We recomend changing the solenoids if you have over 80k on your tranny. You can order over the phone, we accept all major credit cards. Our VB's come with detailed installation instructions for the DIYer or you can have it installed by any tranny shop, it should take them no more than an hour. If you guys have any more questions feel free to call me @ (516)-676-8470 mon-fri, 9-5 EST or you can post(please keep in mind that I only have a few minutes a day to sit at the computer)

hi I'm interested but does the VB mod avoid warranty. I have a 2k3 with less then 1,000 miles is that ok to do the vb mod that soon. Or I would have to break in the car more than do the vb mod?

Hey JTMAX97, you only have 1000km, I would say wait a few thousand km to have it done, because anyway the 2k3 auto tranny is much better than the previous year, I think it can void the warranty but they will have to proove the damage was cause by the VB recal. The Valve body recalibration is known to strengten the tranny. Waiting few thousand km more will give you the chance to break in the tranny and push it, if you happend to have a weak auto tranny you will likely see it in the next few thousand km and wont have to pay and fight for repair.

Just my 2 cents.

Hey jeff, Alex told me that I don't need to get the smaller filter cone cuz the Stillen changed the piping or something for autos....he said the piping is shorter or longer or something.....he said i don't have to get anything else but the ones they supply. so I'll just work with wutever comes with the kit without upgrading anything......

I would like to come in for this and hang around until it is complete. Please post up or email me when we have the 10 people and let me know when I can call to schedule. I will also need new solenoids--there are more than 1 correct? Can you also sell/install/reccomend tranny fluid coolers? Maybe you can give us a total price with everything since I am sure we all want new solenoids/trans coolers/and new fluid.
This sounds like a GREAT deal.
thanks a bunch!

Tranny Cooler

yea i think jeff 4got to mention the part about the tranny cooler...that will be a must in this mod, as the tranny fluid will run hotter than normal under the hard shifts, and heat for the tranny is a big NO NO...you can get a tranny cooler for anywhere btwn 30 and 60 bucks, depending on the brand, size, etc...i believe jeff carries generic brand ones and he charges 80 on top of that to install it...Most people here usually have either a Hayden 403/404 or a B&M...B&M is said to be better, but costs a bit more
By the way, i have this mod done by jeff, stage 2, back in october during his first group deal, i just dropped my car off overnite but thats cuz i live local..very well worth it mod, unless you plan on going all out and just doing a 5 spd swap which i now wish i did orhad just bought a 5 spd in the first place =(...this is one of the best things you can do to an auto, and if ur planning on super/turbocharging, you will definately need this mod to beef the tranny up to handle the boost
This is a great price guys, you're saving $115(50 on the mod and 65 on labor) with the GD price, go for it

Nice add on Raj...

Yes people GET THE TRANNY COOLER ALSO If you dont the tranny fuild will run hotter and that isnt too good for the tranny. Its an investment that you get added bennift.

For those who think that other local mechanics can do this similer type vb mod, i say do you home work.

Jeff's Vb mod is well known and praised. Fast and done to ones liking. Be warey or others who try to immatate.

Get on this group deal cuz, well, its a deal, 500-600 bucks for faster, reliable, and longer lasting tranny. beats getting a rebuilt down the line, so save your tranny now.

I just bought a Stage 2 VB mod from 96shogunmax with brand new solenoids. You're right about 5 speeds, but this is going to really change driving with an auto. Can't wait to install it

NO! its a mod that makes the max auto tranny shift faster and harder.. thus reducing lag.. it feels like it has lots of hp after the mod..lol.. It protects the tranny and extends the life of the tranny
