Gauging Interest: A32 Maxima Front/Lower Strut Braces by GTFabrications

http://gtfabrications.com/maxima/barsindex.htm

I just want to get a feel for how many people would be interested for the strut braces in the link above. Personally, I'm very interested in the lower strut brace. It connects the control arms and I've never seen anything like it.

A quote from a rep from GTFabrications:

"The lower arm bar ties in both A-ARMs substantially reducing flex during hard cornering. For cars with a weak chassis or bigger chassis this would increase the overall rigidity. In combination with a good strut tower bar it would help the car handle to a point where you can actually feel your suspension getting a work out. Since it also works your suspension a lot harder so you would have to turn down the valving on the suspension and or raise the spring rate. The car that we had made it for is using TEINs super street coil over set up. (These are new and would be available soon as well.)"

If there's enough interest, then I'll be able to start a group deal on the bars. Thanks!

Totally interested for both!

The design of the lower bar is similar in concept with the ones companies make for the S2000s, RSXs, etc. I rode in an S2000 before and after a Spoon Sports x brace was installed and you can feel the increased rigidity gained by the brace.

Is it made out of steel or aluminum?

Also I would like to pick up to save on shipping since I'm local. If there is enough interest can you work out a cash pick-up price with them for local members. Thanks.

Yeah I've thought about scraping too. I guess it's just a trade off..

The price for both is $345 on their website...but I'm not sure about the group deal price. I just need to get more responses and see if it's worth doing a group deal.

I think they can easily work out a black or silver powercoating of some sort.

Interested in lower as well. Would this eliminate the need to do the SFC? Its funny cause I was just looking at these last night.

Interested in the lower. Looks like it decreases the ground clearance by a lot though. How's the install? Simple bolt on I presume?

Looks nice: Questions though.
1) Install. You have to use longer bolts?
2) What does it do to ground clearance?
3) So if you have to do some tranny/exhaust work, you have to remove those long control arm bolts to take the brace out??

I may be interested in the lower one too. But I'd like to know
1. Would it clear the cattman ypipe
2. Are there are any other sort of modifications required to make it fit.
3. clearance
4. How would this work in combination with a FSTB and RSB. Would it make the chassis too still in combination with the RSB

Since it is in between the front wheels I think ground clearance should not be a huge problem. The place I scrape the most with my SFCs is going up driveways and speed bumps. In both these instances it looks like the lower bar would lift over the obstical (sp?) with the front tires.

Can you ask the manufacture and see if the lower tie bar will fit on the A33 chassis (2000-2003)? If so, I might be interested.

Hey, I'm interested in the lower part, depending on price and how low the clearance to the ground is, my max is already lowered and the road are crap over here so I dont want to scrape the road on daily bases.

Let me know.
