Important Update: Before we ship out any hoods we inspect each one for defects. Last night I was inspecting them prior to shipping and discovered that EVERY hood we have has a large scratch on the same spot. Obviously a manufacturers defect. Now we are shipping each one back to be replaced and discontinue selling them till we have proper replacements. Sorry this happened guys, but guess it is better that we found this out before your received them rather then after. I will still honor this group deal price when we get our next shipment. Any questions feel free to give us a call.

I just got my hood- didn't get the GD price looking at the recepit- I placed the order over the website... bummer and I replied right after to this tread to see if I can get the same price as the GD- saving like 75 bux... Hood looks good, no scratches on it- and my blown struts on my hood acctually hold the hood up decent and are ez to close. I did have a problem with the latch- its the type that U gotta bolt up to the hood. I had to remove a piece of it to make it fit. I got the blue hood pins also, and installed the OE washer nozzles- not a rice boy. I have a 01 GXE 5spd with AE front end- lights, bumper, fogs, its black. The CF hood looks soo good that even my cooworker- parts manager that is about 60 wants to get one for his Focus wagon ! It took me like a hour to install the hood right- but everyone says the car looks pimp as hell.
Mike Jez
01 GXE 5spd- every bolt on, no dinky spoilers, AE front end treatment-including blacked out grill bumper, AE tail lights- no rear spoiler, side skirts or rear valance thou- hate em. GC 600/500 coils, Koni shocks, SE 3.5L swaybar-front, rear Addco, Front and rear STBs, 245-45-17 Azenis on RPO1 Enkei. 14.1@100MPH from a NA 3.0L.

Here is a link to some pics I took today in the morning in the parking lot... not the best but U kinda get the idea. Forget the SE-R badge- I'm a renagade SE-R B13 driver... and needed to pledge to my retired classic with my Maxima. Plus it aint like a GT-R badge or anything :P

Your max looks great Mike. Sorry you missed the group deal. Give me a call next time you order and I will give you a special discount to make up for it. Your hood was in good shape that is why we shipped it. Hopefully we should have our new shipment soon.

Will these hold up as well as the OEM in an accident. I'm wondering if they will buckle like my stock one did this morning. I'm going to need to replace my hood and I'm thinking OEM is pretty pricey...why not CF.

I'm still not sure if I want the headers or the turbo... does anyone sell just the pipe that attaches to the stock manifolds and brings it up top so I can mount the turbo of my choice on it ? I have a few HKS GT3037Ss laying around, and I come from the SR20 community so turbos.... are like Ypipes for ya Maxima guys to us SR20 guys :P

Can the manufacturer do some impact tests to determine the outcome of a crash simulation with the flawed hoods? I really want a CF hood, but I'm a bit cautious about the results of a frontal impact or side impact. Will these hoods buckle and crease to absorb impact and protect the occupants? Or will it shatter and disperse? Or will it simple break into the windshield and harm the occupants?

Cheston wrote the manufacturer of his hoods did some testing, but I wonder how these will result.

I'm in, how many people are there so far? BTW would the hood stay up like the way our stock do or do we need a rod to hold it up?

I currently use ONE hood strut- drivers side to hold up the hood when I open it. My pass side strut is blown so it will not hold the hood open. I drilled a small hole in the hoods bottom- from underside the hood to insert the strut in it. The strut is ALWAYS completly deployed, basically its like a rod that some cars use to hold the hood up. I'm going to get a real rod that will hold the hood up at the latch since its alot more rigid in that spot than the current position. If U use both good hood struts the hood might crack if U try to close it, plus I dunno how U going to bolt the strut down to the hood, its not threaded and the material is too soft to not crack..... like I said I use my one strut as a hood prop, it kinda looks uneven when open cause the hood flexes some, but its ok for now- till I put a rod of some used Acura that comes in- I work at Acura as a Mechanic.
