Group Deal on Falken Ziex ze 512 tires (225/50/17). $400/set Shipped.

For those of you looking to replace Potenza tires, here's your chance. I negotiated a deal with Discounttiredirect.com and was able to get a small discount for us (ORG) on Falken Ziex ZE512 tires. The only condition is they need atleast 20 orders and all 20 ordes must be of the same tire size. I picked 225/50/17 because that's the stock tire numbers. Its possible to fill the 20 spots much easier at this size. Please make sure that you are absolutely 100% sure before signing up... so either you are in or you're not.

Their advertised price for each tire (225/50/17) is $108. From this deal, you can get each tire for $100, that's a discount of 8% which is pretty good considering these tires are very popular now. Please note that this group deal is for a set of 4 tires... so it will cost you $400 for 4 tires.

Shipping is Free.

As far as payment goes, they accept credit cards. As soon as we fill 20 spots, I will release the contact information and you can order over the phone directly. Discounttiredirect.com is a well known merchant so I expect everything to go smoothly...

Finally, I just want to make it clear that I am simply trying to help... I am in no way affiliated to the retailer and won't be held responsible for anything. I am just another Maxima.org member looking to replace imPotenza tires with something that has good wet/snow traction. Falken 512's have been rated #1 by Consumer Reports, so it definitely has to be better than decent. Here are some consumer reviews (Just want to mention that a lot of them gave "0" for snow traction because they all purchased their tires after the snow season...)

come on guys, we need 20 solid orders for this deal to go through... If you guys start choosing "maybe", we'll never be able to fill the empty spots...

This is a pretty good deal and you know the people we are working with are reliable... if you look on the internet, you won't find this price anywhere...

All I can say is from all the reviews, these tires are the best for its price.

CTmax02, I will try to get that size for you, otherwise, you will just have to take 225/50/17...

I am trying to add CTmax02 and MaxMojo to the list, here's the message I get:

"The administrator has specified that you can only edit messages for 1440 minutes after you have posted. This limit has expired, so you must contact the administrator to make alterations on your message."

What's up with all these restrictions? 10 character limit messages ...

priuzgarcia, I posted this GD about a week ago and we already filled 4 spots. If you join, we only need 15 more... I am sure if I post this the 5th gen forum we can have all orders filled in 2-3 weeks. I will add you to the list, if it takes too long you can drop out later. I am optimistic that more people will get in once the first snow fall hits the ground.

Would these tires stack up to the Michelin Poilot Sport A/S? I just need a set of tires that would be good for winters in Chicago and be good when its summer again.

No, but they are close. These cost less than 1/2 of what pilots cost. On a scale of 1 to 10, if pilots rate at 9.5, these rate at 8... from all the reviews. I simply cannot justify spending $1300 for a set of tires like pilots. Great tires but way overpriced! I would rather get the TechnoSquare ECU update with the money left over...

I'm about 85% in. If this grup deal dose not go down at the end of a month when I have to pay for the car, insurance, and my phone I will be in. I need tires really bad and don't want to pay 800.00+ for the Michelin A/S tires.

I need new tires!!! Put me down for 1 set of 4. I need them asap! $400 shipped is awesome!
71,000 miles on original tires from 7/31/00. I'm actually at the wear mark! Talk about scary tires, they are now really scary. Can't go faster than 45 when it rains.

Dude, not many showed interest... so the GD was pretty much dead. If we have 20 people, I can once again try to negotiate a GD.

oh well, besides they're out of stock and it seems other sites that had that size don't have them anymore either. I guess I'll go for maybe sumitomos then....

Wooow, you're really pushing yourself to the limit huh? I have 17k miles on original tires and really looking forward to replacing them with new wheels in the spring time.

all season's I was told this gd was off because of lack of interest. I got Sumitomo HTR+ instead... otherwise I would have wanted to go with this deal.

Just a comment to those thinking about this GD or just buyingthe 512's solo....DO IT! These tires have been on my max for about 2 months now...the ride si great (a little softer than the RE92s), wet traction is outstanding, and snow traction pretty good as well. Dry traction is excellent too, just a little more lean in the corners than the craptenzas....Go for it...well worth the money (and the're cheap)....I have had Pilot Sport A/S before on anther car...and these are almost as good, for half the price.
