I've been looking at your website. Of all the models of optimas you have, which models are for the 2k2-2k3 Maxima? I am assuming no modification is neccessary to install the optimas, correct? By the way, I don't need any extra posts for audio. I have my power amp connected to the pos terminal.

well, you could always do this and leave your main power connection alone :)

That's awesome, but my setup is not that sophisticated. What model do I need. And I am assuming that no modification is needed correct?

nubiannupe Oct 31, 2003 04:56 AM

No modification needed.

Guys;
My research indicates the BEST battery for the 2002-3 Maxima needs a reversed post battery: The R800 Red top. We have it in stock for $119.99 delivered.

By the way - the car pictured above is awesum!
and We would like to know the manufacturer of the battery terminals pictured on this Yellow Top, so we can add them to the website. Please email me information direct.

Thanks for replying. So does the reversed post battery alleviate the problem of having to modify the pos terminal to stretch long enough to connect properly? If so, then I will definately get this one. I have had a problem finding out which optima will fit properly without modification. Also does this red top offer a little more power to help with powering a 300watt amp and sub? Its not a big system, so I don't think I need the complex setup that polo has (although it looks awesome). I appreciate your response, hopefully if this battery solves the above problems, I can buy one soon.

Yes, the R800 takes care of the crossing cables / stretching them across the battery problems. Optimas design does help with drain and reserve problems associated with larger power draws.
The Red top will help vs lead acid technology. The impressive gains with large systems is seen with the DeepCycle products. I too like Polo's setup,
and will be adding the Stinger products soon.
Thank you all for your support and interest!

I just want to make sure I understand you. Here are some pics:

Red top reversed

The problem is not the positive and negative poles on opposite sides, it is the distance that the actual pole is from the top (side closest to windshield) of the battery. Notice the pic of the stock battery and terminals (close to top) and yellow top picture (more towards middle or bottom). Are you suggesting I turn the 800R around (so the label is upside down) for it to install correctly? It looks like that should work. Is there any problem with this besides the label just being backward?

Thanks for the help. :)

batteriesareus Nov 3, 2003 05:51 AM

Hello;
I tried the forum earlier, but it was down?

The R800 has the posts reversed. With the battery sitting in front of you and
the terminals nearest you the positive post would be on the right hand side.
(yes, the posts are opposite of the D850u Yellow top)
Looking at the pictures it appears that the R800 will fit, and the label
may be backwards on this install.

Thank you for your time and interest.

Cool. I think I will just get the 800R and turn it around. I just wanted to be sure that is what you meant. When I am able to buy it, should I just email you and let you know I am on the org to get that price? It is more on the website. Is this a one time offer, or a Maxima.org discount? Thanks for the good offers.

P.S. the .org is being really fussy right now. Anymore than 200 users at a time, and it freaks out.
