For starters I don't own a Maxima so I don't know what years correlated with each other so that's why I asked.

As for the VIS hoods being made of poor quality do you have any links as to where I can see that. I've heard a few people have bad experiences with fitment and such on certain hoods, but those were few and far in between. Otherwise a lot of people seem to regard them as one of the better company's out there for hoods. I mean look at Southwest Auto Works. What hoods do they carry? VIS.

 

They try to keep up with the newer models coming out. You know businesses always try to do what they think will be more profitable. I asked them about this model year and they said that they don't have a hood to use as a mold.

If you are interested there are 2 ways you can go about doing this. You can either get a small group of people (i.e. 5) who seriously want the hood and have them give a small deposit so VIS can purchase a hood from the dealer and then use it for the mold. The deposit they gave would then be applied towards the purchase price.

The second option is if YOU purchase them a hood. In turn they usually will give you the end product for free (don't quote me on that since you would have to talk to them directly and work out the details, but that is what they have done for me).

Either option would take 6-8 weeks to have the CF hood completed.

The deadline is still a couple of weeks away, but I want to go through the list and thin out those who are no longer "IN" so we can get an accurate headcount.

Can you paint these hoods to match color of your car? If so, any ideas on the cost?

 

Yes they can be painted any color just like an OEM hood or aftermarket hood. Only difference would be that this would be lighter than your stock hood.

As for cost it depends on the body shop of your choice. I'd say anywhere from $100-$200 and up.

Yeah that sounds about right. They said they will take a few extra bucks due to the number of buyers. When I told them about how many people I had they were a little hesitant (I guess they didn't think I would get enough people).

 

I got in an accident today and will be needing a new hood. It would be nice to upgrade to the CF hood. Let me know

Everybody who is on the list please place your order on Monday. Since VIS is used to dealing in bulk they prefer payment by Money Order. For those of you who prefer to pay by Credit Card please be aware that VIS will charge you a 3% transaction fee that their bank charges them. (Found this out from other members who already placed their orders). Also, your shipping address and billing address must be the same for security purposes.

Do you know if VIS has started making their hoods in 1-piece CF yet?

Last I heard was that they were working on a one-piece hood and when they released it for other cars they'd release a hood for 95-99.

I see some of the Team Shift guys are getting equipped.

Do you mean a solid one piece weave or all one piece hood because from what I know they still use a 2-piece design for the hood. CF on top with a skeleton backing.
