I'm posting this to see if anyone else is interested in a group deal on a kit of High Temp, High Grade, 2-Part lacquer, Brake Caliper Paint.

This is one of the things on my list of to-do's for my '02 Max.

I've looked very closely a couple of kits and found one manufactured in Colorado.

Its the G2 Brake Caliper Paint System Set

The G2 BRAKE Caliper PaintSystem Set adds a high-gloss color "touch" to your car's appearance, helping alloy wheels to better stand out, while protecting the calipers from harmful and possibly dangerous oils and chemicals. Set includes high-tech PaintSystem, PERFORMANCE Brake Cleaner Spray, mixing cup, application brush, wood stirrer and a color car decal.

Available in 9 high-gloss, wear-resistant colors:
Red, Yellow, Blue, Silver, Black, Purple, Green, White & Gold.

Sufficient for 4 Calipers or 2 Brake Drums.

MSRP $42.95
Website: http://www.g2usa.com/wheel.shtml

If anyone is interested in buying one of these kits, please post a response. If I get more than a few positive responses, I will contact the manufacturer and a couple of dealers to see what kind of break we can get with a given amount of buyers.

If you've already used the G2 Paint system and have positive or negative feedback, please post it.

If you think you would not like to participate in this group deal, please don't leave tacky comments. Not everyone mods their car the same.

I used the G2 silver kit on my max. The silver is just slightly darker than the stock 2k2-2k3 SE wheels. It looks great on the car with my clear corners. I have detailed before and after pics on my website if anyone wants to see them. It may be a little hard to tell in the pics, but the painted calipers look great in person.

by the way, I bought mine from www.wheelskin.com. the price included shipping. If you guys are still trying to find a group deal, maybe you could see what these guys would do for you.

I wanted to paint my calipers soon, whats the difference between this and just using high temp paint and clear coat from Pepboys?

Using High-Temp paint/clearcoat spray paint is fine too. Just make sure you put on enough THIN coats and allow enough time b/w coats...

I've heard good stuff about G2. I'd be down for a group deal.

Also may buy some silver for the tail end of my muffler (It's getting this burnt brown look to it) What do you guys think? good/bad idea?

This is a 2 part laquer + hardner that is applied with a brush. Spray paint would work but I think the G2 kit would look much more uniform in appearance and be an easier process with a more durable finish. Its probably the closest look to powder coating that we can get.

With the spray paint, you would still need to prep your surface with cleaner and a can of primer and let it dry for 48 hours before reapplying paint.

I don't want to have my car up on blocks for 2 to 3 days to do this job.

So we have 1 person insterested besides me. Its that all??

have anything else on/in the car that's blue? if not, go with the white. actually even if you do have other blue stuff, go with the white anyway. IMO

yeah my rev lights/blinkers all around are hyper white, so they look blue when not on. has anyone seen white painted brake calipers? do they get really dirty looking? bcause of the brake dust?? i think im leaning towards the blue. any more opinions?

I PM'd Steve from SWA but haven't heard anything back yet. Considering he is the Sales Manager for SWA, i figure he gets alot of PM's from people trying to setup GD's or whatever. I'll give him till friday, then I'll give him a call. Sound good to everybody?

On a pearl white max.... I like white because it matches with the car, but then again there is the issue of cleaning the dirt off... but its up to you man. My car is sheer silver. and my frankencar intake is red, my greddy caps are red with silver, and strut bar is red.... Im going for the red and silver look so Im getting the red g2 paint for my calipers.... again it depends on if you are going for uniformity or not.....if this sounds confusing, its my fault, i drank a Corona before going to work today..

Painted calipers no matter what color they are, will accumulate dirt and brake dust. White is more prone to dirt cuz it shows more. Again, now its 3 more beers after work... the night just started.
