Chrome, chrome, chrome....

Hey guys, I can have almost any of your metal or aluminium parts get chrome process, this is show quality type of chrome it's a mutiple step process ( copper, nickel and chrome ), the turn around time is 2-3 weeks, this is the best quality chrome money can buy. To give you an idea, to chrome the Berk Mid Pipe with a sating finish inside and triple chrome outside it would cost you around 110$ CDN which is around 75-80 $ US + shipping. I had both of my street scene grill ( 2k1 ) chrome process the price can be around 200-225$ CDN for both+ shipping as well.

Again this is the best quality of chrome you can get on the market and the shop has been in operation for over 30 years.

Feel free to contact me at: dblea@videotron.ca

Cheers

Good question, I though to offer the service first and see what kind of interest it can generate, but basically I can do a group deal but we'd have to agree on which parts first. We can chrome anything made of metal, steel, Stainless steel, cast iron, aluminium, white metal as well.

For example if there is many request for Berk Mid Pipe I can do a group deal.

Feel free to make me suggestions or send me an e-mail if you need somthing specific.

Anyone be interested in a real chrome kit ? well with your input and suggestions I can compile a list of the parts we would like to have include in the chrome kit. Then I will buy the parts myself and have it chrome process. I will then show you the result with pics, shortly after the first kit is done I will confirm you the price in CDN $$$ If you have any suggestions go ahead and express those idea to build up that list.

Thank you for your interest in this exciting project.

You know the aluminum dash kit they sell, would it possible to make a chrome kit? I think chrome on a maxima dash will look HOT!!

If you cannot make a chrome kit, how hard is to put chrome coating on the aluminum kit to make it chrome?

Do you have any pics of the pieces, or the dimension ? Without seing it I would say around 180$ and that's canadian money, with the pics I can probably have a strait price early this week.

For the plastic it's a different process than the one I'm proposing for metalic part, in one of the known process they have to make the plastic part conductive with a chemical reaction, a thin copper layer build up on the part so then it could be chrome plated, dont quote me on this cuz I'm just simplifying my explanation. Plastic can be chrome with a paint system, imagine a mirror for instance, it's a glass on which they apply a very reflective paint, there is a shop in Ontario that does chrome plastic. I will be in touch with them this week.

Cheers

let me know how that turns out. i have an extra piece here that i am almost positive would get some itneresting response if you chromed it...we'll leave that for emails
let me know when you get a rough guesstimate on the cost compared to steel. i also assume these prices will be competitive vs. any place i go to.

Do you currently have a pic of your dash kit ? As for plastic I'm doing research on the available process, but for now I concentrate on metalic parts.

I'm going to select a certain number of parts under the maxima's hood and have it chrome then I will show you the result and publish the price for a group deal. As for the price, you guys will be the judge, when you'll see the quality of the product, price will not matter that much, but yes I'll be competitive with other that do the same quality. There is only 2-3 weeks to wait before I get my first pieces, I'll keep you posted soon.

Cheers

You are not even going to want to touch the plastic chroming process, trust me. Chroming plastic either has a huge buy in or a weigh in.

And good luck pushing chroming, it's hard to organize and time is always a factor.

let's put it this way. i got a gauge cluster sitting on my lap with no plans on using it....it's an auto cluster with 248k on the odo. i was wondering what "fun" you can have with the gauge bezel. let me know what you can do. if not plastic, then hey, if you can have a mold made cheaper, out of steal or what not, then chromed, by all means. i'll even make you a nice perfect template and you get a cut out made. hell, if you want, i'll send you the cluster. i have no plans for it.

It look like it's aluminium made, polish it since it's stay inside the car, it's going to cost you peanuts to polish it, to chrome it probably 125-165$ CDN.

Before this thread degenerate, I would like you guys to understand that it is almost impossible for me and the technicians to estimate the labor and work without having the parts handy, not knowing if the part is new or used, also it can be rusted or painted. As for the bigger parts I will ask the technicians, when I go back at the shop later this week, so please send me your request at dblea@videotron.ca so I can make print out of it and save some time.

Also understand that my goal is to make kit, of bolts and brackets or whatever you guys want that can be sold as a kit at an affordable price.

Regards

If you need a intake manifold I may be able to work something out with you, to use mine to get all of your pricing right in exchange for a deal on chroming mine. Let me know.

If I remember correctly the intake manifold on my 2k1 SE AE is made of some composite material making it impossible to chrome, but maybe it's different with 2K3 I dunno. Send me some pics I'll take a look.

The intake manifold would look awesome, is it made of alu on the 4th gen ? can you send me some pics cuz I have a 2K1.

As for the radiator mounts, that's defenitely in my list.
Tommorow I'm going at the Local Nissan dealer to order a bunch of parts, if they have it in stock then it's going for chrome this week and should be back in 2 weeks. Oh, what is TB ?

That's what I'm doin, but it's going to take some time, the tech need
to see each parts and figure out the works and cost. I already have some parts a the chrome shop ( main & valence Street Scene grill and Berk Midpipe ), I should get those in 2 weeks, meantime I'm ordering parts which will be parts of a kit that I will offer as a GD, i'm not done yet but things are going very well, but still I'm anxious to get me stuff and show you the result soon.

Hey MannyNJ2K2max, alu doesn't rust so what it is made of ? it always depend on the labor needed for the additional work that is require to remove the rust, my both StreetScene would prolly goes for 140-150$ US maybe less, but there brand new, I would need to see it to be shure though, you'd be better buying a new one and have it chrome, unless it is very expensive.
