The UDP does not actually produce more horsepower. It frees up hoursepower that the engine used to spin the stock pulley. Since the UDP is lighter and underdriven it does not require as much energy to spin, thus allowing more power to the wheels.


The lightest Aluminum underdrive pulley made for the 1995-2003 Nissan Maxima,1996-2002 Infiniti I30/I35, 2002-2004 Nissan Altima 3.5 liter. The concept here is rather simple, your stock pulley weighs close to 6 lbs and these pulleys weigh in near 1 lb. This reduction in weight allows your engine and crank to become more productive once the huge, heavy stock pulley is replaced by one of these. Sorry to change my mind, but after some research, I realized this isnt the mod for me. This is good for those who dont use their A/C at low RPMs and dont have big sound systems, both of which I do, guess I got a little excited, great deal though, free bump.

OK, sorry to keep whoring up this thread, but I'm in thinking about what I should do, maybe TylerBorg or any other mamner can help me with this. Ive been thinking about getting a UDP for a while, but then againm I started to read about the cons of getting one. I used some info from here:

I'm one to use my A/C alot here in Miami, and I have 1500 watts in my trunk that I use constantly. The last thing I want is to have my alternator get messed up or have my a/c act werd at low RPMs. I have an optima battery, and will soon reinstall my capacitor (after it gets fixed). I havent had any problems yet, so do you guys think this is a good idea for me? Let me know soon thanks!

 

Could you post the part numbers for the belts needed when you get a chance... in whichever brand you're familure with.

alternator A/C Gates K060408 or K060410
Power steering Gates K040300

These can be cross referenced at a local parts store

 

im gonna get the goodyear gatorback belts. Expensive, but worth it i think...

I'm kinda curious what the "OR" means... Are you saying that both will fit or that one might fit, and the other won't? I actually work at a parts store so returning one wont be a problem obviously, but I was just curious if I should just buy both.

 

The pulley ships with detailed instructions and the part numbers are also on that sheet.

I personally do not have experience with the belts, just know the information so I cannot answer that question. It is my understanding that either of those will work.
