the headers aren't a Y and B pipe.... they take the place of the Y pipe.

the headers will flow better than your stock Y-pipe, but if the rest of the exhaust is constrictive, then you've negated the gains.

if you're going to leave the rest of the exhaust stock, you're better off going with the Y-pipe instead of the headers.

You wouldn't gain anything (or much) going with the headers over the Y...

but either one is better than the stock setup!

As far as fitment issues, there are none for 2k-2k1s. As for emission issues, you really have to check with your local laws, since it varies state to state.

Thanks
Alex
A fitment issue that I found with the headers, is that the front motor mount bolt was rubbing one of the exhaust port tubes.

I told Brian (Catts) about this already.

When you install them, make sure that the bolt isn't rubbing the pipes. If it does, do what we did, take the bolt off, and grind it down a bit. Doing this makes it a little harder getting the bolt back into the motor mount bracket, since the bolt is tapered, and you'll be grinding part of that away.

Rant mode on.

Another week, huh! Not good. I ordered the ypipe on 2/25/04, had my credit card CHARGED on 2/25/04...Been checking periodically, and now this news...Doesn't make me happy at all. I was hoping to have the y-pipe DELIVERED and INSTALLED by the weekend of 3/13/04. I was never told the part was not available. I didn't think that was too tall of an order...Im going to a national meet on March 20th, and really wanted to try out the intake/ypipe combo...

Usually, I'm not the complaining type, but 1) for my credit card to be charged without the part actually shipping, and for 2) Brian Catts to say he had them in stock, when he didn't, well both of those things are reprehensible.

Rant mode off.

I just hope they get this in gear, and it doesn't turn into a frankencar thing, where you wait two months for a part...

$325 shipped is a damn good deal, that's why I was all over this gd.

How much were you going to pay for the used y-pipe?

$250. We both live in the area so it didn't need to be shipped.

I'm disappointed, also. Can't/don't compare to Frankencar. Steve and Alex answer/return phone calls and provide information and answer questions (FC doesn't). If supplier doesn't give them the right information, there's not much they can do about it. I'm going to a meet March 20 and was hoping to have Y and B installed by then. Patience is what I need and I need it NOW. lol

It wasn't that Cattman didn't have them in stock, he did, but neither him nor SWA expected the turnout we got from this GD. A number of pipes were sent out, but the response from you guys was just awesome and ate up the stock. I am sorry about the delay, but we'll get things taken care of ASAP.

Thanks Steve. You're a straight shooter. So has Cattman confirmed he anticipates a shipment at the end of the week?

Brian Catts is a pretty straight guy... he helped me out a lot when i was looking into getting his headers..

it doesn't matter to me if the headers were made by 12 year old kids, hobbits, or maoris... the quality of these are AWESOME... check out my cardomain site for pics if you want to see them...

remember guys, with word that the $teallin headers are pieces of **** getting out all over, people gotta buy them from somewhere.
