Updated Kyb Gr-2 And Agx Deal: $230 Shipped!!

For those of you who were in that last deal, sorry that the company backed out. Here's who we're going with now:

Set of 4:
89-94 GR-2 $200.00/set SHIPPED
95-99 GR-2 $230.00/set SHIPPED
95-99 AGX $370.00/set. SHIPPED
00-02 GR-2 $275.00/set SHIPPED
All in US dollars.

Only continental US. Sorry, no Canada.

Above prices are for Money Orders. He accepts V/MC/AmEx/Disc, but add 5% if you're paying with credit or debit. (So the prices are $210, 241.50, 388.50, and 288.75, respectively).

21 person minimum

Once you give me your real and .org name, address, email, phone number, which shocks you want, and payment method, I'll put you on the list. When we get 21 people IN, we'll buy.

This is from:
Philsinc.com in Evanston, Ill. It sounds like a great place, I've personally talked to the owner and signed a contract. Let me know if you have any questions.

Actually, no paypal. Read carefully happyricefob. Haha. Money orders or credit/debit cards direct to his company only.

XeroX, I need the rest of your info and I'll put you down.

It'll be sad if we can't even get 21...I've talked to SO MANY PEOPLE for this...most companies don't even want to talk about prices this low. If you know anyone who's considering it, now's the time! Tell your friends!

Everyone I talked to who could give a good price couldn't do the 5th gen AGX. I'm not sure if they're available elsewhere or not, but not through this deal. Sorry.

hey, I never really understud much of suspensions. and I'm wondering. what are the shocks good for?
BTW why would I buy shocks? would I have to buy any other parts for my suspension?
Please if you convice me that this is a good upgrade for my car then I will buy it.
thanks

Great question. One reason to buy a new suspension is when yours go bad, which sometimes happens to cars with 100K like mine. Another, and more fun, reason is to give it better handling. It becomes more responsive and can take turns better with a tighter suspension (although be warned you'll also feel the bumps more). And if you ever want to lower it (with shorter, tighter springs) then you'll need better struts to handle it. Lowering makes it look better, as well as giving it better handling. This link is a great one about all Maxima performance...check out the page on handling to get a better description.

sorry budha56, I'm thinking about it, and I like the confortable cushion (soft on my butt) and I still haven't bought the RSB nor the RSTB, so unfortunaly I'm not going to be in this group deal.

BTW I have notice that lately you have being buying a ton of things for your car (lots of GD). what Happen to you, did you get a Ton of Money? or just decided to start spending money in your car.

I broke up with my fiancee (gives me time), I have a friend who helps me work on my car but I'm moving in May (gives me urgency), and when med school starts in August I won't have any time for the life of my car so I gotta get it ready before that. haha.

Try tirerack.com... I just got some new Kumho rubber (yes I know not the greatest brand in the world!) for my stock rims. Ended up being right under $200 after shipping. Shipping was only like $20-30 They actually ride fairly nice.

So I guess everyone who was going to be in on the last deal budha posted either went with Cattman or Ebay?!? I want the ASAP also, but I'm tempted to pay the extra $15 or so to get them faster. There doesn't seem that much interest now that the price is a little higher.

I just got new tires and I need an alignment bad. I don't want to pay for one twice since I will be lowered in a week or so once I get the struts and I will need it aligned after that. I will watch this for another day and see if anyone else jumps on and I might too.

So we're over half there after 24 hours. If I was able to get it at no minimum, how many people would jump in? I'm worried that everyone's doing what you are, bluemaxdriver, and waitint until other people commit to reach the min. I know with the Y pipe deal, once we hit the minimum is skyrocketed. If everyone just waits around then it looks like the deal's dead, and it doesn't happen. I was thinking the response has been great, because there are a lot of people who are probably still in from the last deal but who just haven't committed yet. Anyway, I'll see if I can get a lower minimum.

As far as I know.. there are no KYB AGX for 5th gen maximas made..

the 4th gen ones will fit in the rear, but you will need to modify the holes for the 2 bolts that hold it to the car and drill them out a little bigger.. that's all.

i am running 4th gen AGX on my 2000

i love these struts overall, had them on my 4th gen too
i don't trust Tokicos anymore

Once we have 20, it probably won't go too much longer unless there's still a lot of interest. Try and decide soon!

Eibach Pro-kit Springs
Description: The Eibach Pro-kit has a 1.5" front 1.3" rear drop and are known to be one of the stiffest springs short of coilovers for the 4th Generation Maxima. Probably one of the top performing springs (next to race coilovers) due to the stiffness and ride height. These springs are known to be stiff and should be paired with Koni Yellows, KYB AGX, or Tokico Illuminas.
Pics: http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~drewm/maxima/max1.jpg
Cheapest price: $189.08 from http://www.adventon.com/

Sprint Springs
Description: The Sprint springs have a 2.0" drop. They are known to look a little high in the rear, but that can be an advantage when you have a system in the trunk causing it to sag. Generally regarded as a good roadcourse/autocross spring, but many members of the forum say it's not as good as the Eibachs due to not enough suspension travel. The spring could possibly bring the front suspension very close to the bumpstops due to the extreme front drop which could cause suspension bottoming problems, especially with weak shocks. In addition, a few members have had problems with driveshafts wearing out because of the extreme angle that the springs put them at. They should only be paired with adjustable shocks such as Koni Yellows, KYB AGX, or Tokico Illuminas.
Pics: http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...030_7_full.jpg
Cheapest price: $139.95 from http://www.suspensionmax.com/ or $149.48 from http://www.adventon.com/ or $149.99 from http://www.southwestautoworks.com/

That's from http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaSprings

I think the sprints sound like the best performers, the eibachs sound a little more comfortable. Not too many people looking at this thread have those yet...you might be better off asking on the 4th generation thread. I think if I'd go with the AGX if that extra money didn't make much of a difference because of the adjustability. Let me know what you decide, and I'll put you on the list.

Mahstylez, everyone who has given me all the info is on the list. We have 11 that are definitely in, several others who sound like they're definitely going to join, and several others who are maybes. I'm sure we'll get 20, it's just a matter of how fast people make up their minds.

He hasn't given me a deadline yet...I'll probably send in a group as soon as we get the 21, and then see if I can drag it out so that others can get in too. If we get no minimum, I might close it sooner if people stop joining. Once you're in, I'm sure he'll give you a little time to pay. I wish I could give a better deadline.
