Ultimate Turbo Group Deal - need 10!!!!
Okay everyone. It's time for me to get serious. I'm hoping there are at least 9 of you out there ready to take the leap. It's time to turbocharge my 2000 SE. This turbo kit can be viewed here and can be placed on a 4th and 5th gen maximas (95-01).
Personally, I'm interested in the one on the bottom with the dual ball bearing option. This kit is complete! You just need to install it. My contact can drop $500 off the price if we get 10 people. Basically, you need about $4,000 for the kit (I know...ouch!). That's the price to fry the mustangs and corvettes out there. Worth it to me (but not necessarily my wife).
I'm somewhat of a newbie to the 5th gen Maximas and to maxima.org. I admit it. However, I owned a 94 gxe for 4 years in the past, and I currently own a 92 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX in addition to the SE.
You don't need to send me any money. I'd just like to get as many people in as possible.
Thanks!

Yes. However, you only want this kit if your HP goals are at what is stated (~300). You will not be able to "turn up the boost" without changing your compression ratio. I don't know how much you know about physics, but increasing pressure on a confined space of air causes release of heat. Think about releasing air from an air compressor or balloon. As air molecules occupy a greater volume (at lower pressures), they absorb heat from the environment. Thus you feel cold if you squirt the air on your finger/arm. The opposite happens when you compress air via a turbo/supercharger. This is why you need an intercooler (for the most part). To defy physics, you can use a larger compressor (i.e. bigger turbo) that pushes more air at the same psi.

Also, the PFI kit does not come with:
1. extra fuel injectors
2. fuel injector controller
3. blow off valve

hard to find 10 people to spend $4000 on their max all in one shot...
If you look at our bord 80% of the members are between the ages of 18-21. . . no mucho dinero or something like that haha
You're better off just buying the thing yourself for the extra $500.
Good Luck.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Just thought I'd post it anyway. Gotta bleed to succeed!

if you emailed him at that email address he left and didn't get him.. pm me and i will give you another one to get in touch with him.
Right now he is in Japan so he is trying to respond to emails as quickly as posible.

oh you were talking about that TSI Kit. I have never heard of that kit before.. and i don't know anyone with a TSI kit. Its up to you though if you want to go with that.
Atleast on the PFI Kit i know of about 5 maxima's on the org with it

I would not be collecting any money. I was just trying to organize the effort.
Why did someone say that the turbo runs off one bank of cylinders? That does not make any sense.
Yes, I'm a to maxima.org, but I have a relatively elevated understanding of turbo application and consequences. This is why, as I noted above, IMO the ptuning kit is not complete.
I would go the supercharger route, but the same problems exist AND no intercooling.

Personally i dont' even think such a kit exists...

MaxMoJo knows the manufacturer. If anyone wants facts and not speculation from a picture from a website who resells others turbos kits, feel free to email him about his own personal car, which has it installed. (Last year August)
UPDATE: Spoke to Harry @ Paradox-Systems.

1st pic Motor Mount included in kit. radiator out, Y pipe gone, and factory manifold.
2nd pic T28 from above. manifold installed w/o radiator yet.
3rd pic completed w/o AIC(additional injector control) This kit was designed around 5th gen so some piping was cut to fit before the TB. Kit included an FMU w/ 6:1 disc. Piping from Turbo to Pass side, down and under radiator support to IC across to drivers side, down under radiator support up and runs by tranny like Injen CAI into TB. The BOV sound real nice esp when we were able to crank the 6psi to 9psi.
4th pic IC included w/ kit w/ Skyline bumper.
Any questions ? PM me I installed the kit and I'll tell ya what a difference it made in MaxMojo's car w/o tuning.
This kit isn't for someone looking for ungodly power, more like a kit for those who want boost, spools real quick, offers awesome response. Very driveable. T28 is rated to 18psi. I dont have exact CFM numbers, but as stated good for about 300hp.(Very similar to S15 silvia turbo)
Feel free to ask MaxMojo for pricing if interested. Meet or beat the price advertised.

Are the 5speed kits really $3k more? If so, what is th difference? You'd think it would be the same price, if not cheaper, as I'd assume more 5speed owners would be interested, (general stereotype).
As to whomever said you don't need an intercooler for a supercharged car, yeah you don't, but it helps tremendously. Whenever you compress air (as previously stated) temp of the air skyrockets. And if you want proof that air temp has a huge impact on hp off of a boosted car, I can dig up some dyno numbers of a 91 300ZX TT, that had N20 setup to spray on the intercooler (dropping the air temp off of the turbos 20degrees), it made 744HP when spraying on the intercooler, and 692HP without spraying on the intercooler. And before you say a word, that n20 spray did nothing except lower the temperature of the incoming charged air, IT DID NOT make it into the combustion chamber. Air temp plays a huge role in boost applications (any type of boost) as the whole idea behind boost is to get as much air as possible into the cylinders, cooler air = more dense, the more dense, the more you can get in, then you can add more fuel, and voila, it acts as if its a larger cylinder.

I wouldn't expect much it's a T28 turbo spretty small. probably about 280-350 (absolute max)
The PFI kit comes with a T03/4, a larger turbo and it can be bosted for more power with a boost controller but you need larger injectors and extra hardware (i.e. walbro high flow fuel pump)
i'd rather spend 1K more and get it done right that to waste 4K on a turbo that gives small gains the $/HP ratio is much smaller.
i'm also auto so i'm still waiting for that to become available.
