The way ohio does its E-check for obd-II equiiped cars is to scan the ECU. As long as you have no codes you pass. You could have a gutted cat with an o2 sim and pass emissions. I dont think they even visually check to see if a cat is present.

Yes, Hotshot is a great company. However, the SR20 headers are not entirely without fault. I've got one and it's got the common problem - crack at the 1-4 primary. Mine is actually (not as common) leaking at the main flange to the head. I've got a nice whistle which sounds like a turbo (it'd be nice to have the power output to go with the sounds However, by the pic, it looks as if the headers might be stainless? If it's the same material and coating as the SR20 header, I'd be interested to hear about durability and resistance to cracking. I need a new header for my SR20 and hopefully this will not be the case every 3-4 years for me

The hotshot headers are not stainless. They are mild steel and coated w/ a high temp ceramic inside and out. Same with the Cattman. The price of stainless is sky high right now in the US because of the steel relief act.

I have our first 4th Gen header protype which I will be modifying to fit the 2000-01 Maxima. It is full polished 304 stainless steel.

Has there been any word with HS addressing the concerns of the fitment issues?

No arguement at all about that, Kieran. Hence, if people out there could wait a few years for gen2 or gen3 (or gen6 ) headers to come out, that might be best.

I never heard anything about them cracking but I have heard about the possibility of the flange warping where it attaches to the cat becuase its kinda thin causing an exhaust leak. The rest of the problems are minor, annoying fitment issues. They fit on with some rattling (which can be fixed) except for some people saying the back header touches a bracket of some kind and needed to be ground on a bit. I would have already bought them regardless of the fitment issues if I hadnt run into a bit of financial hardluck.

I can only accept phoned in or faxed orders. If you want to go with Paypal then there will be an additional 1% surcharge on your order. (I know it sounds like it's stupid but 1% is a lot for us).

Email or give me a call.
