Cattman complete exhaust system

Hi Brian,

I'm considering a complete replacement, from y-pipe to exhaust tip. If part of the GD, what price could you quote me for CCES-G4B ?

Thanks,
~Gary

Your little "rolleyes" guy makes it clear that you think we're being less than honest about the shipping prices. How nice that you're confident enough to share that opinion with everyone.

I don't know if you've got an axe to grind (by mis-stating our prices and promoting another company's products on my group deal thread), or if you're overly certain of your infallibility, but check your facts before challenging someone else's honesty.

Go figure it out on the UPS page and be sure to get back to us - 2 oversize boxes, shipped at a volumetric weight of 70 lbs each, fully insured, signature required, from zip code 85701 to anywhere in NY or New England.

Gary, I can do everything except the catalytic convertor at the moment. Leaving that out, you're looking at $869 for the y-pipe, catback exhaust, and both installation kits. If you want a header set instead of a y-pipe, the price with a catback exhaust and all installation kits is $1250. I don't have your zip code, but assuming you want it shipped to upstate NY, the exhaust will run $85 and the y-pipe roughly $15, for a total of $100 from Arizona. Headers ship for about $30.

Going back to cats, we recently prototyped and tested a new catalytic convertor, using an EPA-approved core from Europe, but the first set of dyno runs came out so strong on an 02 Max that I'm afraid to release them until I have a second set as a backup. I still have a hard time believing the results after overseeing the testing myself, so I can't really expect anyone else to.

A quick question or two. Do you think that a group deal on your headers would be possible in the near future? And/Or, do you see the price dropping in the forseeable future? I know that they are a great product and worth every penny, money is just a little tight.

Thanks again,
Nathan

Yes, regarding the headers... I said there wasn't going to be a deep group deal again, but I'm about to make a liar out of myself (sort of) because there will be a deal on the next batch, due around the first week of October. Not quite the same deal as last time, however, because this one will be a pre-sale. I don't want to step on this thread with a second deal, so look on the GD forum for the information.

I don't mean to be vague, but the deal will last until my inventory starts to run thin and then it will end without advance notice. I'll probably be out of some parts before others, but most items are in pretty good supply right now and most should last a couple of weeks.

Shipping the full catback exhaust from us to you will run $62.

Check out our parallel suspension parts sale too, also on the GD forum. There are some sweet prices, particularly on my favorites, KYB AGX struts and Progress springs, and a great deal on the Progress RSB.

Good luck getting your stuff from franken anytime quick... check out this thread about the org member who's been waiting 6 weeks just to get his intake http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=330226

also, if you read closely, you'll see that franken's price that you're saying is $200 cheaper is an introductory offer.

Also dude, if you have doubts about the cost of shipping, do what Brian says, and look it up yourself.

Cattman is one of the most reliable and honest businesses on the org, can you say that about franken?

I've never regretted purchasing my Cattman headers and catback exhaust sytem - the quality is outstanding, the performance is outstanding (all backed up by my dynos) and the sound is incredible... Soon as Brian comes out with the new cat, i'll be on that too! HNDA ETR by Cattman lol...

You said earlier that you needed to beat $650. Our sale price is $550, and shipping to most of the East coast (including RI) is $85, so the total would be $635.

Brian, I have your rear section w/ a GReddy bpipe from the EVO exhaust and it doesn't seem to fit perfectly. The bpipe makes a noise sometimes. It looks like it's hitting up against the heat shield on the right side. Also the muffler hangs lower than it should. I even replaced the 3 hangers, which helped a bit, but it still needs to be lifted up some.

Maybe the GReddy bpipe is different from yours? Would buying a new bpipe fix the problems? I never had the any problems when I had my EVO rear section on the car.

Our B-pipe and muffler components together make up our catback exhaust, and they are individually interchangeable with their stock counterparts. Although we advise using them together, a Cattman muffler fits well with a stock b-pipe, and a stock muffler fits well with a Cattman b-pipe. How well they fit with the mufflers and b-pipes made by other companies depends on how true those parts are to the stock "originals".

No question that the Greddy B-pipe will be somewhat different from ours - we patterned ours after the stock pipe, and I don't know what they patterned theirs after. I think the EVO system is primarily intended to be used as a full catback - so their muffler works with their B-pipe - but apparently the Greddy B-pipe does not exactly replicate the alignment of the stock B-pipe.

I'd suggest installing our b-pipe, particularly since one of the major issues with the Greddy system is the tiny resonator in their B-pipe, which causes it to get very loud, with a harsh tone, when you add a y-pipe or header set. Our B-pipe has a very long resonator which greatly reduces the volume and mellows out the tone.

Cool. Thanks for the info, Brian. I might just have to order one of our bpipes. It's $289 w/ the O2 sensor bung welded in right?
How much is shipping to 44145?

Thanks, Jason

You're correct on the price for a 00-03 B-pipe w/ O2 sensor port, and the shipping from Tucson to Cleveland is $38.

Give me a call at 520.730.9309 if you'd like to order.

Brian,
Just wondering.
Do you have a Y pipe and Cat-back for a 2000 Cali-spec in stock.
And what would shipping be to 07731.

Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,

Yes, those parts are in stock for immediate shipment. Parts are $884. Shipping is $100 ($85 for the catback, $15 for the y-pipe).

Give us a call at 520.730.9309 when you're ready to order.

Hi Brian
I'm interested in the cat back exhaust for my '98. Can you provide me with a total quote with shipping to Canada? Postal code is V6A 1W1.

By the way, how is the noise level when coupled with an aftermarket Y pipe? Anything close to the stock noise level or is it at Mustang level when on power?

I looked this up for another customer earlier today - its a flat rate of $95 to all of Canada when sent by US Postal Service, without the "surprise" brokerage fees that accompany a UPS- or Fedex-shipped package.

I'd say the volume is closer to a stock Mustang than a stock Maxima, but as aftermarket exhuasts go, its quieter than most and the tone is great - particularly with a performance y-pipe or headers.

1. that was exactly 6 months ago
2. stainless steel prices (and steel in general) have gone through the roof and I've had several price increases since then

Because our design locates the O2 sensor on the rear cylinder bank its supposed to plug into (rather than moving it to the front cylinders so the wiring will readh), it requires extending the wiring of ONE O2 sensor.

Nothing too dramatic about that, just make sure that the connections are soldered rather than using crimp connectors.

Not at this time. Partly a matter of demand (you'd only need one for a turbo or s/c setup) and partly the challenge of the task. Its not easy to fit a 3" production exhaust under a car without some rattles.
