Here's what they look like more than a year, 30,000 miles, and dozens of track days later:

did you read the link?

2nd line on the page:
"If you are the first one to submit a template that we do not have - and test the fitment, you'll get a nice discount off your set just for helping out! "

And it's hardly doing the design.. they have tons of CAD work to do before it's ready, not to mention programming the CNC machines.. simply tracing out the shape of the pedals on a sheet of paper isn't that much to do man. took me 1/2 an hour.

Considering what a low-volume product it will probably be (people here scoff at paying $30 for Nokya pedals), you should be thankful that the manufacturer is willing to do it at all.

Hey, I have a question...

Has anyone submitted the templates for a 97 maxima auto? If not, I will go out and trace them/take photos tomorrow. How much of a discount are we talkin? Oh, and how long would the production time take?

I'm seriously interested here as I have been waiting for a good set of pedals for my ride and I hate all the ricer pedals out there with the indiblo crap and neons and such...

Thanks,
drew

I'd like answers to the same questions for a '95 5spd (95-99 will be the same...4th gen).

I don't remember the price, but there was a fairly significant discount over the retail price.. production took a few weeks after I mailed them the drawings. probably a month or so at most, but I'm sure that will depend on their ability to crank them out and the current business they have. If they have a zillion orders to make and ship, it's obviously goign to take longer to make a new set...

Wow those still look pretty good. It's always nice to see how the pedals hold up after +30K miles with track usage. Thanks (again) for the pics.

Yes, when we select a market we'll spend the money and develop the pedals for a given car. However, to speed up the process (esp for a GB like this), we can accept customer templates to manufacture the prototype set. It's not the preferred method, but think of it as a service where you get a discount for helping out.

This is correct. Many hours of "R&D" go into each set once we get the templates. However, we do really appreciate all the testers that have worked with us in the past, like Matt.

Ok folks, if you would like to be a tester please e-mail me at jw@autovation.net

The tester price is $20 off the GD price - that's only $49 shipped. However, we only need 5 testers (see list below) to get us the required templates and install pictures. It's also going to take a few more weeks to get your product - but we'll still guarantee fitment and satisfaction.

STATUS

Here are the current testers:

5th Generation (2000-2003) MT => NOMOTIVE
4th Generation (1995-1999) AT => GodsmackMAX ** Done!!
4th Generation (1995-1999) MT => JSMax

I also have interest in (but no official e-mail requests for) the following:

3rd Generation (1989-1994) AT => Nisimo3366

Nisimo3366, Terran and GodsmackMAX: please send e-mail to jw@autovation.net confirm that you would like to be a tester.

No interest so far for:

6th Generation (2004+) MT => ???

Email sent!

I was looking on your site (very nice design btw), and I noticed that you make door sills for the the mitsu lancer. Is it possible for you all to make some for the 4th gen maxes and beat the price of CM?

I think I'm kinda going out on a limb here as your price for the lancer ones are $140 and Custommaxima.com sells ours for $99. Just thought I'd ask though.

I will be in for a set of 95-99 AT Pedals when you get them done. Unfortunately I do not have the stock rubber peices any more. I could still get you everything else if you want it??? I really like these!!!!

Thanks for the compliments. Our Lancer door sills are expensive because they're CNC machined 4-piece sets (4 doors), they have machined grooves and require bends to fit - we also glass bead them. Those are retail prices. If we can make them in batches (with a GD) then the price drops about 25%. But I can't talk about a product I don't have yet. We would not be able to engrave "Maxima" on them. CM must have a license to avoid trademark violations? Anyway, if you're interested in helping us develop these shoot me an e-mail jw@autovation.net - I don't want to hijack my own pedal GD thread.

I also got your e-mail and I've added you to my list as one of the 5 testers. Thanks!

Thanks for the offer Dub but Godsmackmax said he should have templates today. I may have to extend the GD for all these new designs though (that is, just the new ones) - we'll see. We will rush to try to get them completed.

Thanks for the quick reply. It would be nice to get them on a GB, but if its not possible I would still be interested in owning a set that will be better than the after market "clip ons."

Got it! Pics look good. Thanks! Also, did you make a dead pedal template because 'bk-99-se-l' asked:

...I'm just making sure you included it.

We have not received templates for this gen. yet. However, we have testers (aka, very nice people from this board working with us to design these) for both transmission types. We expect to receive the automatic templates very soon and we just signed a tester up for the manuals. I hope to have these ready for ordering in 12-15 days - but it really depends on how fast the testers can get us the templates and then install the pedals when they get them.

I can get pictures of the pedals to you on sunday and I'll e-mial them off then. I don't have access to the digital camera untill then.

please send me an e-mail or pm if there is anything else that you need from me now.

Thanks for the opp. be test these at a discounted price.
