Which is better? 9k 9007 HID Kit or 9k 9004 HID Kit? The reason i'm asking is that i have a 9007 consversion kit, but i don't want to go through installing it if the 9004 HID kit is going to be about the same as a 9007 HID kit. Thanks!

They're the same thing. I've dealt w/ both. 9004 in this car and 9007 in my SpecV... Plus I've seen the 9007 on a Max after someone around here converted theirs and the pattern is 97% identical. Since the 4th gen Max is a 9004 just get the 9004 kit and don't bother w/ the conversion.
...but that's just my opinion...

just get the 9004 kit dude, youll be suprised and delighted by how much light output you get anyways no more of a need to increase or find ways to increase the output. You may think so now but once you get them in youll plainly see 9004 is fine and more than enough. does that help? once you install you wont be dissapointed with 9004

if you see there is a pictures of the other ballast for the headlights, algo behind the headlights there is a lot of space to installed, you can use the 3M or the metal part with the screws. It just to take a little time with a beer on your hand to do it.

Best Regads,

Well I finally installed the H3 micro bulbs and everything looks great(I will post pics later) but the left bulb flickers like crazy when it first lights up. At first I thought that it might be the ballast but I tried the other set of bulbs I have and they work perfect. Maximabest what do you think the problem is???

I cant seem to place where that pic is? Will I have to go underneath the car to mount these? And also how can I mount the ignitors. There are only two pieces of the 3m adhesive tape that the kit comes with and thats for the ballasts. I took a knap just now because I was so tired. But damn I hav eeverything wired just cant seem to figure out where and how to mount theese things. I was hoping to have it done tonight but couldnt really find much help on here on how to do this. Hopefully someone can help out.

Hi there zgrm, we did..use a little of imagination to install the ballast, more than 140 org members did without any problem. and the igniters, you can put ir everywhere or attach with other wires with the accessories that comes in the kit.

Makavelist, replace the fuse, also reconnect that side, everythings fine, sometimes the chip inside the ballast take a little while to read the power of the car, remember that helios ballast comes with intel pentium chip to protect the car for high and low discharges, its a plus.

Best Regards

okay thanks maximabest. I guess it doesnt really matter where to install these things. I was just worri dofr some reason... So you said you did install it to the plastic thing protecting the battery? Oh I cant wait to hook them up tomorrow! Also will necessarily need to replace the fuse on my 2K1 maxima for these to work?

no you dont need to replace, some times we recomend put some 20 amp fuse. Also you dont have to worry to where to hold the ballast, just avoid to drop it at 100 mph on the highway and you will be fine.

im guessing the H4 hi/lo HID kit has the small halogen high beam on top of the HID bulb, how does it affect the light and does the light output change compared to a low beam only H4 HID? does the HID light stay on when your turn on the high beam?

Best Regards,
i meant the output of the low beam of the H4 hi/lo HID, since the high beam bulb is right above the low beam HID, i would think it would do something to the beam pattern on the low beam. sorry if im bugging you with all those questions, but i am very interested in buying this.

I think he is asking about the beam pattern of the HID, not the high beam.

last question I promise lol... The manual says to put the wire cover over the lead wire leading to the bulb. Now which wire is that? Is that the yellow wire?

Okay wait now im totaly confused. When I unplug the wire that connects ot my original H4 bulb that connector has three slots, two on the sides and one on top. Now th ekit only has two prongs and it wont even fit that connection. Am I doing something wrong? I was under the impression that I just take out my stock bulb and plug that connector into the ignitor? Oh man now i took everything apart and am stuck! Thing is the wire is too short anyway so I dnt understandhow you guys are mounting to the bumper. Welp!

Wait holy crap am I missing the connection harness? The only thing I have in the box are th eigniters, ballasts and bulbs. The manual says that I need to connect the ballast to the connectin harness and then the connection harness is what connects to the wire that connected to my oem lights before. Is this how its supposed to be???
