If your tails are damaged when you got them, you should have called Greg at CE right away. You may still call him so that he can work things out with you. His number is in previous posts, just look for it.

I am glad I didn't get the first batch now.

I call custommaxima and was ordering the taillights and everything. Gave my credit card # and the guy tells me it's declined. I haven't the slightest idea why. Go out later that day get gas with the same "declined" card and it works fine. A blessing in disguise, I guess. But I will be getting the new and improved clear/red lights.

Your feelings are understandable. Speak to Greg. I'm sure he'll exchange your lights.

P.s. There are two 'Shift' keys to the left and right of the lettered keys on your keyboard.

5+ yrs on the org and im finally seeing 95/96 red/clear tails in production!!!

I actually saw these in person on a green 4th gen driving next to me. Everyone is correct about the light not being even, when the kid hit his brakes the light seems staggared and not smooth. But overall with DC clears up front and a good wax job these should look good on most 4th gens. I say wax job cause these tails are VERY shiny and looked horrible against this kids dull looking paint.

I'm thinking the same thing. There are all of these problems that I had to fix myself with no real help from them. It wasn't like it was hard or anything but its the principle.

Yea exactly, it wasn't difficult to do. I actually enjoyed working on these tails. Always up for a challenge. And I also now feel pretty lucky that mine werent damaged/scratched when i got em. The real problem I have tho is the dam lighting, and im pretty sure theres nuthin i can do about that, u know what im sayin...its minor but still just makes the mod look cheap instead of a $150+ mod that i spent so much time on trying to get exactly right.

Greg, please let us know what the improvements on the tails are gonna be, and specifically if this lighting issue will be resolved.

Still working out the kinks with the factory on all those issues. Remember guys I said that we will be happy to send you replacement lights when they came in. As far as improvements we have listed 27 different major and very minor things for the factory to change on the lights. All will make these lights fit and look excellent. In the end these will fit and look better then most other lights that are available now.

I'll post again in the end of the week when i get more updates from the factory.

So Greg, will the 2 week deadline you told me about during our phone conversation last Tuesday (July 5th), in which I'll be getting my replacement tails, still going to happen or will it be pushed back? Also, take a look at the pic below. See how the two tails differ in the way it lights up? The oem's entire lense being illuminated evenly, and the CE being too bright around the middle areas of the lenses. Is this one of the kinks that will be worked out?

The only way the illuminated area will change is if the housing changes and I don't think he is planning on a housing change, but then you never know.

I have seen these lights in person at a meet last weekend. They light up the same way in person. I noticed this when the owner was backing up his car into a space where I was standing at. I got a really close look at the tails while the reverse light was lit and when he applied the brakes. I actually made a comment about it and he agreed. But I guess he is not as **** as I am.

How is it being lazy if I did not know that? It's not like I knew it was on the first post and I was too lazy to hit the little '1' button on the bottom, right. :

Besides, his extension is not on the first post.

Scroll a few posts down, same page, and you'll see an 800# under the CE sig pic. Call that number and asked to be transfered to Greg. Problem solved! Now back to the real issues at hand.

Yep, I'm with Nadir. I do like these better than the David L's that I have, at least during the day. At night, I highly prefer the David L's.

I'll probably get a pair and see if I can stick LED's in.

i actually sent it back because it arrived with a few small scratches that were too deep to buff out. i couldve kept them but im real **** about perfection, besides it was an opportunity to get a set with all the bugs fixed.

Same here, mine came damaged. It is still here, when UPS drops off my new one, I'll exchange that with the damaged ones. Hopefully, the two weeks turn around time that Greg told me still holds true.

I can't seem to get an answer to my question. Are you taking exchanges for all of the first gen tails or just the broken ones?

Greg when you say perfect, does that include the rubber trim around them too, mine fell off the day I put them on. I guess the glue was'nt holding it on good.

I've tried. I can't call them from work, so I try to PM them and they never answer. They are talking about exchanging tails in this thread so why should it be a secret. If they are exchanging all sets then people should know and if they aren't then people should know. Everyone knows what is wrong with the tails anyway. If Greg doesn't want to post about it he can PM me.
