I have an I30 2000 and are still on the original brakes at 60K miles! Looking to replace the front and rear pads soon.

Will the Deluxe Plus last as long as OEM??? Are they made of the same material?

Hi Jeff,

I installed a set of PBR ultimate ceramic brake pads and Brembo rotors in the front and they start squeaking from day 1. I showed it to three mechanics and they all blame the pads. I am still not convinced.
The squeaking is very annoying, loud, and disturbs not only me with closed glass, but even the people stare at me when I brake to stop.

Any help is appreciated.

The PBR Ultimate brake pads can squeek, they aren't guaranteed to be quiet all the time. It's an ultra high performance pad, so some noise just comes with the territory. If the noise is just too much for you, I would recommend switching to a less aggressive pad that tends to be quieter. If your mechanic didn't use anti squeek lubricant during installation, that could also magnify the problem of noise. Let us know if you need any other help.

Hey Jeff... it looks like Rotora has rebadged the Axxis pads? You have any details about that?

I'm going to be needing new pads soon, and would get these regardless (to replace the previous set I purchased from you), but just wanted to know what was up with that....

Ah yeah, that's just Rotora reselling the Axxis Ultimate pads. Much better deal to just order them from us . Sounds good, just let us know when you're ready.

How do the EBC Ultimax compare to the PBR Metal Master in terms of
overall quality,
braking power,
noise,
fade,
wear on rotor,
and dust under normal city driving (no track or autocross though)?

Does the PBR Axxis Deluxe Plus stop better? Less noise, better for rotor?

The PBR/Axxis Metal Master (XBG) Pads are overall better in quality, braking power, and fade. The Ultimax doesn't have as good of performance. The PBR/Axxis Deluxe Advanced pads would be better than the EBC Ultimax in my opinion. Let me know if you have any other questions.
