Don

I sent you an email, but no reply. I have a 2002 maxima with an aftermarket alarm (automate 1). Will it be a pain to install a remote start with the aftermarket alarm?

Thanks

Its possible to do, although I would have to try to find some info about the system you already have. Also bear in mind the range for the remote start will be limited to whatever range you are currently getting.

Hey Don,

Make/Model: '98 I30t, 5spd

I actually live in Metuchen so you're basically next door. I have the prestige 996 on one of my nissan's (Auto) with the 2 way pager and I've been totally spoiled by it. I've stopped driving my 5spd cuz the other car is nice and toasty upon arrival. Do you install Prestige units and if you do, how much do you charge for install? When it says RS3.5 and RS2.1, does it mean RSX3.5 and RSX2.1? I'm definately interested, so let me know when it's good for you.

If you look at the first post it's 419 Installed. YOu should definately get this alarm..i've had it before on my prelude and it is awesome. NO MORE "Hm...did I loock the door?" AND THEN YOU GOTTA WALK ALLLLLL THE WAY BACK TO THE CAR JUST TO CHECk. If yuo have this alarm you just check your remote or even lock it (it has a HUGE RANGE). And as you already know...remote start is AWESOME. hehe. I'm in the process of gettin mine installed...don had two new family members arrive into the world so it got postponed.

Ya, i was just checking to see some other quotes and they were like 419 installed? go for it... One guy even said he has the 3.5rsx in his car and he loves it. I am used to the issues you describe. Especially with the i30 not even beeping but just blinking acknowledgement, I sometimes wonder from my office, did I remember to lock the car...hmmm...You're right. The 2 way pager is a luxury that you can't do without if you've had it before. I figured things would be a bit postponed. Don, Congrats on your new additions to the family.

Hey Don,

I know you must be super busy, but I was wondering when this would be able to be installed. I was driving the car today and froze my kabudles off on my way home from work.

Hope all is well.

Thanks Don. I've PM'ed you with further info. Also, I was wondering how much you charge for the 472v/x remote to be added to the system. I thought I saw it here but maybe not in this thread.

i have had the alarm/remote start clifford alarm on my 01 5 speed for over 5 months and it has worked great for me. Remote start is the best thing a car can ever have, especially now when its 20< outside. One thing i like about the remote, the buttons sit flush with the rest of the remote unlike the viper alarm i used to have. When my remote is in my pocket, i dont unlock my car by mistake anymore . Both worked great 4 me though. I credit 40% to DEI for making a great product, 60% to don for a great install

Where is the alarm unit located, maybe I can look it and tell. It says pursuit on my remote so that should be the make I am assuming.

Don't need the 472 remote anymore. Got the 479 2 way for 60, which seemed like a good deal.

Hey Don,

I'm going to get some strobes installed soon and would like them wired up to the alarm, would you be able to do that? I don't have either installed yet, I just wanted to know that if you can do it, should i have the strobes installed first, or can u wire up the alarm so i just connect the strobes? I think i need a pulse timer to make this work right?

TIA,
Chris

I know you must be extremely busy, but would you be able to provide a tentative timeline for install?

BTW, how is your wife and the babies? Hope all is well and have a great Christmas and New Year, but hopefully you'll back to me before that. lol.

(i thought i did read about it being installed on manual transmission, if i read wrong, my mistake.)

edit: interested in the 3.5 system with 2 way remote

Don installed it in my 03 6speed just like yours. The cool thing about our maxima's is that it has a neutral safety switch built in! So no starting in gear allowed. Also you get window roll down/roll up + trunk release standard for the install. GREAT DEAL! Don is trustworthy...unlike the Circuit City / Best Buy Types that will tell you that you need the trunk popper and window module to do all that fun stuff. Also they won't do remote start for you cause they don't know any better. Get in on this while it's still available guys! you wont' regret it

For all that have posted....

This will continue through till the end of January.

If I havent replied to your post/PM/phone call yet. I will. I have been extremely busy with my newborns and the Holidays. Everyone should be taken care of with the next two weeks. One at a time of course.

Hey Don,

I called you a while ago about Alarm and Pioneer Navi. I haven't contacted you since cause I was doubtful if I would be keeping the car. I decided against selling and would like to get an alarm for $300. Saturday 7th in the morning would work best for me. Let's discuss details through PM.
