Hawk Pad Sale!

HPS - High Performance Street

Superior Stopping Power

HPS - High Performance Street disc brake pads are world renowned for increasing stopping power on your street legal vehicle. Increasing the performance of your vehicles braking system is easy when you choose Hawk Performance’s HPS braking compound. This unique Ferro-Carbon formula was developed for street performance using the safety and quality of Aerospace and Motorsports severe-duty friction technology.

The High Performance Street compound offers a higher coefficient of friction over stock brake pads and can provide you 20-40% more stopping power and higher resistance to brake fade than most standard replacement pads. Less fade means you’ll have a highly durable brake pad with less brake dust..

HPS Ferro-Compound Features:

* Increased stopping power
* High friction/torque hot or cold
* Gentle on rotors
* Extended pad life
* Low dust
* Virtually noise-free

Interesting you ask that question. I literally just had the hawk pads then replaced them with the Axxix Ultimate pads. I tried them because my cousin has them on his BMW so i gave them a try. The hawks are better hands down.

1) The hawks dust more than OEM but way way less than the axxis ultimates, The axxis turn my rims black in 3 days jet black. The dust from them are pitting the clear coat on my rims.

2) When the axxis rims are cold they bite great, as they warm up they dont bite as hard. The hawks have the same bite at all temps.

3) After heavy breaking with the axxis it sounds like a rock against the rotor. Im guessing its because it ceramic and thats what happens when it heats up, it sounds very hard. Like i hear a Woob Woob type noise sorta like when you are at the end of your pads. The hawks smell when heated up but are easier on the rotor.

After these axxis ultimates wear out i will be trying the Hawk HPS +.

I want in. Add me in please for a 2000 Maxima.

Thanks Rick James, I know exactly what you're talking about because my friends lexus is300 has a horrible sound when stopping. Sounds wicked nastly, like it's got bad/worn axles.

I had Axxis Ultimates and Hawk HPS back-to-back as well (although I had the Ultimates first).

I will have to agree strongly on the dust and noise comments. The Hawks are much worse than OEM, but definitely better than the Ultimates.

As far as this comment, though...

...my experiences were slightly different.

When I first put in my Ultimates, I warmed them up by driving nice and easy (but not granny-like) for about 10 minutes through some small backroads to get to this long, straight section where I beat the CRAP out of them with consecutive 5-60-5 mph runs. There was steady improvement with each run at first, and after about 5 minutes of that it leveled off. I really didn't have the heart to keep going until they started to fade. They were good enough when they were cold, but when they warmed up they were great.

I had gotten them to replace my EBC Greenstuff pads, which cracked from heat. They survived just fine and stopped a lot better. I thought they were great pads. Even though they dusted like hell, didn't even last 15k miles, and squeaked and squealed like piggies sometimes.

The Hawks felt like a total revelation. I actually found that they had slightly LESS cold bite than the Ultimates, especially on cold winter days. Not a big deal, since even 2-3 minutes of light driving was enough to get past that. But driving them hard was almost jarring: During my break-in session of consecutive near-stops from speeds between 40 and 70 mph, they reached the peak power and feel of the Ultimates within a few minutes and then just kept improving. The pedal feel, response, and stopping power got better and better with every run until I realized I had been at it for 15 minutes and lost the nerve to find out where they would plateau.

Great freakin' pads. I'm on my second set and am never looking back (unless someone comes up with a really nice deal on Ferrodo DS2500s or something).
