I wish I waited a few more weeks. I picked up your rear section a few weeks ago and I just ordered your b-pipe. Oh well. I still can't wait to get my b-pipe. One thing I noticed is the tone is very different with just your rear section installed with the stock b-pipe as opposed to a friend at school's 4th gen with your full cat-back. It has a deeper tone with just the rear section. But I heard the full set up on my friends which is why I picked up the b-pipe also. That thing screams and it is the nicest sounding max i've ever heard in person so hopefully mine will sound the same once the b-pipe is in. I think you are producing the best cat-back available for the 4th gens and i'm looking to pick up your headers in the near future. If anyone is thinking about getting his cat-back, GET IT. You will not be disappointed.

Keep an eye on the weekly specials, there won't be any advance notice of sale items. Some may appear and disappear in a couple of days.

Sure, note the 04+ catback exhaust that's on sale right now - its absolutely the best exhaust system available for the car.

We also have intakes and a nice set of suspension parts.

do you have any kind of performance numbers for the catback? I haven't seen any... hoping it's for more than just sound..

Our CB-G6 catback for the 04-06 (maybe 07?) makes a solid 10-12hp; we've heard back from several customers confirming this. Our CB-G5 catback for the 00-03 Maxima (00-04 I30/I35) will make roughly 5-6hp on the VQ30DE, 10+ on the VQ35DE. Others may claim more for their systems, but its baloney.

There is no rocket science or magic in a catback design - get the basics down right (correct tubing size, minimize the # and severity of bends, straight-through resonator and muffler, stainless steel for heat retention) and you'll make all the power there is to make. Couple that with excellent design and fabrication for fitment and longevity, and you've got a Cattman catback!

I'm not sure that one would be faster than the other, but the 55447 address would be cheaper at $13.25.

How much to ship RSB for an '03 to 27615?

Also, I've only had my '03 6spd for abt 2 months so I haven't had much time to research. Is there much difference in performance gain between the catback exhaust and the CBM-G5 muffler? I would imagine the muffler gain would be less and is more for exhaust note rather than performance. Correct?

How much would shipping be for each to 27615?

We'll spin out a y-pipe that can be used with the stock manifolds while we're doing the header development for the '04-07. That process will start once we get the 95-03 headers thoroughly back into production, which isn't far off. My best guess for the completion of the 04+ Maxima header/y-pipe project would be late winter.

You're probably aware of this, but just to be sure, the Cattman CB-G5 catback exhaust consists of our CBB-G5 b-pipe and CBM-G5 muffler.

Your assumption is correct. If you put on just the muffler, you'll get much of the sound (of the full catback) but less than half the power. Conversely, using the Cattman b-pipe with the stock muffler will make over half the power (of the full catback) but less of the sound.

Shipping the CBM-G5 muffler to you on the east coast will cost $44.47; the CBB-G5 b-pipe will be $27.55 (shipping costs are less for addresses farther west).

I'll mention that if anyone is interested in the CBM-G5 or CBB-G5 parts that make up the CB-G5 system that's on sale, we will apply the same discount to the individual parts. Give us a call and we'll come up with a price.

It basically limits the forward-rearward movement of the motor. If you've ever watched a manual tranny Maxima dyno run with the hood open, you have see how the motor pitches back and forth with the gear changes. Thats a lot of mass moving around, and stabilizing it does at least two things.

1. it will significantly reduce wheel hop off the line
2. you'll notice it during hard cornering; the car's behavior becomes more predictable when you don't have several hundred pounds shifting back and forth over the front end.

You may notice a very slight increase in vibration because the stiffer mount transmits more to the chassis, but I'm not talking small about a big thing, it really is a minor effect with one bushing and not that significant with two. Nothing like the vibration from the old Place Racing motor mounts.

I hope that covers your questions.

I got my RSB last week and installed it this weekend. Big improvement in handling. The rear feels like it is a part of the car now with almost no body roll during cornering. I love it. Thanks for the great deal Brian!

I'd also like to know if a picture was possible for this dented muffler, Brian.

As for your 4th gen, I believe the hangers are identical, although the piping is not. Therefore you'd have to chop off the tubing and put a 4th gen tubing right at the muffler. Hope this helps!
