The Progress springs are not as stiff as some, but I'm afraid your stock struts will not adequately damp any brand of lowering spring (excessive front end bounce and premature failure). We find that the KYB GR2 struts perform nicely with the Progress springs, and they're a good value too. That combination is currently on sale at Cattman Performance for $489. If you don't have the RSB already, consider including it for a $599 complete solution.

People have been using aftermarket springs with stock struts for the longest time, some struts blew quick, others are still lasting to this day. There are many factors to consider including your driving style and more importantly, road imperfections.
then again, your average joe can't tell much difference between working and nonworkin(blown) struts.
I say spend some extra cash on aftermarket struts, you will get better handling and less bodyroll.

No, they don't cross over very well, according to Progress. They know because they've already done the development work on a set of Altima springs. Should be out later in the Spring.

Thanks, it really is a sweet suspension system for the 6th gen, and such a great price.

I ordered my today
Thanks, Brian, on the great deal on the springs. Counterfeit Teins don't go for as little on ebay ;-) I've contemplated coilovers vs. spring/strut upgrades for a while now and have finally elected to go with KYB GR-2's and the progress springs. The total cost was about half as much as the cheapest coilover setup AND I've heard lots of problems with coilover owners getting their alignment properly done. I'll update everyone with how my '05 SL looks and drives soon, but in the meantime, thanks for the great deal on the springs and look forward to the Y-pipe you are developing for the '05 as well!
I'll be posting some great spring/strut deals in the next Cattman Weekly Sale. If you don't have struts yet, we'll be offering the lowest package prices for Progress springs with GR2 or AGX struts.
